Fall is here and this year, there are a host of ways to celebrate its many flavors. From Flavors of New England to Flavors of Fall to Flavors of the Season, there’s a lot going on to tempt the palates of Boston area food lovers.
Flavors of New England : The Pro Player Foundation, with the National Multiple Sclerosis Society will host Flavors of New England on November 8th at the Seaport Boston Hotel to raise funds and awareness for MS while offering delicious cuisine, live entertainment and exciting auction items. New England Patriots Pro Football Hall of Famer and current VP of Community Affairs for the team, Andre Tippett and Tyler Campbell, the son of Pro Football Hall of Fame running back Earl Campbell, will host the event
Campbell was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2007 while playing football at San Diego State University, but refused to let it stop him from becoming a successful businessman, husband and new father,. He serves as an Ambassador for the Pro Player Foundation and for the National MS Society and is on a mission to help other people with the disease, especially those facing the uncertainty of the future of their education due to MS. Campbell hosts Flavors of the Gaslamp and Flavors of Austin, with his father, in addition to the New England event.
Former Patriots tight end and local radio host, Jermaine Wiggins and former Patriots defensive end, Jarvis Green, will also participate in the event which includes a number of Boston restaurants including Bistro du Midi, Davio’s, Fuji at Kendall, Grill 23 and Bar, O Ya, Oak Long Bar + Kitchen, Silvertone Bar and Grill, Stella, Stephi’s in Southie, Stoked Pizza Co., Waterfront Grille, Brasserie Jo, Fairsted Kitchen, Chopps American Bar and Grill, and Dom’s. Flavors of Fall: Each fall BostonChefs.com and CIty Square Associates, Inc. host a major fundraiser, this year benefitting Youth on Fire, a program that supports a drop-in center and valuable resources for hundreds of homeless youths in Cambridge MA. The event takes place Nov. 17 at the Royal Sonesta Hotel with VIP tickets at $125 and regular tickets at $75. Participating are 18 restaurants (go to www.bostonchefs.com to check out the list), vintners, brewers, distillers and more.
High atop the Prudential Center at Top of the Hub, Flavors of the Season on Nov. 27 offers traditional Thanksgiving favorites such as Roasted Turkey, Acorn & Butternut Squash Bisque and Pumpkin Creme Brulee, along with restaurant favorites including Haddock Rockefeller, Duck Confit, Crown Roast of Pork and Apple Cranberry Cake.
