Just when you thought everything was sunshine and rainbows for Amanda Bynes, the “She’s All That” actress takes to Twitter on Friday October 10, 2014 to prove us all wrong.
Earlier in the day reports came through that Amanda was acting erratically on Twitter again. First, she began discussing how she planned to sue the tabloids. Apparently leaving California and landing back in New York City was cause for alarm. But it wasn’t just the move that shocked tabloids; it was the announcement on Twitter that she was engaged, according to Cosmopolitan magazine on October 10, 2014. According to her Twitter, “I’m getting married and my boyfriend and I are going to be on the cover of People magazine.”
It doesn’t stop there. A few tweets later the “Hairspray” actress claims her father, Rick Bynes, molested her as a child. Since that time most of the tweets have been deleted. In an exclusive statement to E! News, Lynn Bynes, Amanda’s mother released a statement:
“I am heartbroken today for my husband of 47 years. Rick has been the best father and husband a family can ask for. He has never abused Amanda or our other children physically or sexually. These accusations are absolutely horrible and could not be further from the truth! These allegations stem from Amanda’s mental state at the moment. They have no basis in reality. It saddens me beyond belief that my husband’s character could be slandered in such a way.”
Later in the evening Amanda explained her story with this tweet, “My dad never did those things The microchip in my brain made me do those things but he’s the one that ordered them to microchip me [sic]” In the tweets she deleted, Bynes stated that her father told her she was ugly throughout her life, he was “verbally and physically abusive,” he tried to have sex with her, he “fondled himself” in front of her and that her mother knew about his incestual behaviors and yet did nothing.
Amanda’s siblings, Jillian O’Keef and Tommy Bynes, issued their own statements by reaching out to TMZ on Friday October 10, 2014. In the statement they let Bynes know that although they are “pained” by her actions and behavior, they still offer full support and unconditional love to their “wonderful parents.” The sisters are “disturbed” that Amanda would make such accusations and hope she gets the help she so desperately needs.
