We’re back for another episode of “America’s Next Top Model,” and this episode starts as the models arrive back home after last week’s panel.
Everyone is greeted by Will’s winning photo on the flat screen TV. Will is psyched to see his picture there, and surprisingly he chooses Raelia to share the Tyra Suite with him because, “she’s my best friend in the house.” Huh? What happened to your bromance with Matthew?
I guess Matthew is fine with Will not picking him, as we see him sleeping in a room where Lenox is on the top bunk of a bunk bed set. He’s trying to help her with her lack of confidence as she has to do the next photo shoot with only 5 frames. That’s crazy. Matthew thinks Lenox could very well win this thing, but she needs to overcome her self-doubt.
Since Romeo went home, Keith and Kari and Denzel and Mirjana both bring down mattresses to the living room to sleep. Seems a little strange, but hey, whatever floats your boat.
The next day, everyone piles into the van to head off to Quixote Studios where they meet with Yu Tsai, who explains the photo shoot concept. Everyone will be given fabulous hair weaves. Each model will be whipping their hair and be captured in motion doing so. This week’s photographer is Massimo Campana.
Some of the models had problems with the hair. Adam was one of them. Yu kept giving him direction, and slowly but surely, Adam was taking that direction. Yu was really pleased with him. Ben is also having a problem whipping the hair. He’s moving too fast.
Some of the models are taking over 30 frames to get their shot, and as Lenox watches, she is getting really nervous about being able to capture a look. After a short while, she walks off the set crying. The girls try to help her at first, but then Yu goes over to her and actually comforts her. Lenox finally gets it together and channels her emotions for the shot. She seems to do well, but we’ll have to see at panel if one of the 5 was ok.
Kari does really well, and Denzel does well also. Mirjana seems to be having some problems, and some of the other models think that she’s paying more attention to Keith and not enough to her modeling. Keith also has some struggles with the hair. We’ll have to see who really pulls it off and who will be going home.
Ben and Adam get together to write a song for panel. Ben will sing and Adam will rap. Hmmm. Sounds rather weird, but it could be great. Why, it’s Nick Cannon.
Nick has some new headphones that let you plug into a couple other people so you can all be listening to the same thing at the same time. He tells the models that they’ll be working in teams to create an ad campaign for the headphones. The team with the best photo will have their photo used in the campaign.
Team leaders are: Ben, Adam and Lenox. Each leader will get to pick their team members. And the teams are:
Lenox’s team creates an ad with one person in the middle and two people on either side yelling at her. Ben’s team is out by the pool, relaxing, but they look at bit bored. Adam’s team is inside by the bar, with Denzel in the middle and the two girls on either side of them with the headphones. Hmmm. We’ll have to see how this turns out.
Nick likes Adam’s concept, but he thought the ladies look bored. Ben’s team out by the pool look good, but their concept is too general. Nick picks Lenox’s team as the winning team.
Lenox – 10
Matthew – 10
Kari – 10
Adam – 9
Raelia – 9
Denzel – 9
Will – 8
Shei – 8
Keith – 8
It’s time for panel, and Ben and Adam sing their song for Tyra. She seems to like it, but it seemed like a train wreck to me.
Time for the judging. Scores will be listed left to right: Miss J, Tyra, Kelly.
First up is Adam. Kelly is really happy with the shot, saying it’s the first time she’s been able to see him as a model.
8, 8, 8
Ben is next. Tyra thinks he did an incomplete whip. Kelly says it reminds her of something from the Flintstones.
6, 6, 5
Kari is next. Kelly isn’t a fan. Tyra thinks some of the shots look great, but others aren’t great at all.
7, 9, 6 ,
Next is Matthew. Tyra looks like he just wants to get it over with. She thinks he’s not working it, and just relying on his good looks.
8, 6, 8
Keith is next. Kelly doesn’t think it looks editorial. He just looks like a tough dude.
7, 9, 7
Mirjana is next. Kelly thinks she looks totally fierce. Tyra calls her Beyonce as a fashion model.
9, 9, 9
Next is Denzel. Tyra really likes it, but Kelly not so much.
8, 9, 7
Shei is next. Kelly says finally she likes a shot of Shei.
8, 8, 8
Raelia is next. Kelly thinks she looks fabulous.
8, 9, 9
Next is Will. Tyra loves the flip, but she hates his hunt.
8, 7, 9
Lenox is next. All three judges love the shot. She’s really working it.
9, 10, 8
Now, it’s time to add up the challenge score, judges score and social media score. Who will go home? The call outs were as follows:
Ben and Keith are in the bottom two. Tyra thinks Keith has a strong face, but the judges are getting bored. Ben has a lot of personality, but his photo was off key. Who stays? Keith will stay. We say goodbye to Ben.
Next week, the show moves solely to Fri. nights. Tune in on Oct. 3 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT to find out what’s up next.
