Angela Coates’ viral mug shot is earning the Florida model more attention than she ever thought she would receive. Police arrested the model a month ago, and her mug shot is now heating up via social media. The Spread It shared more about this model and her arrest on Sept. 24.
Angela Coates was visiting Georgia when she landed herself in a bit of legal trouble. Police arrested the model for an incident at a nightclub. Authorities charged her with disorderly conduct, and she spent 13 hours in a holding cell. The mug shot taken by the police that night was posted on a Georgia mug shot site. Following that posting, Coates’ mug shot photo went viral. There were 20,000 likes on the photo on Facebook alone. People tweeted the model on Twitter commenting on her looks and offering to pay her bail. There was no need for that because she was released on $360 bail the same day police arrested her.
Coates was once a Beauty of the Week in Jet Magazine, and she showed off her stunning good looks in the mug shot photo. The woman was shocked by the chaos her mug shot photo caused. She spoke to Inside Edition about the photo, and she said the following:
“I actually didn’t even go into jail-jail. I didn’t even get into one of the orange jumpsuits. I was in holding for about 13 hours. It was kind of funny, but at the end of the day it’s still very serious to me, because I take my career very serious and my life very serious. It was the worst experience, it really was.”
The model also revealed on her Twitter that she a police officer that abused his authority arrested her that night. Coates received both positive and negative attention on social media went viral. She fought back at the negative comments on her Twitter account.
Since the release of her photo, the model has shared more about herself online. She revealed that she designs shoes, and she lives in Miami. On Wednesday, the model hosted an event at a nightclub.
This is not the first mug shot photo to go viral in recent months. At the start of the summer, Jeremy Meeks had his arrest photo go viral. The Stockton man was still in jail with a bail set at $1 million dollars when his mug shot went viral. However, he received a modeling agent and a modeling contract with Blaze Models in Los Angeles. Angela Coates is now being called ‘The Female Jeremy Meeks’ because of her viral mug shot.
Jeremy Meeks had his day in court in early July, and he was indicted on one charge. His case was transferred to the federal court system. Since then, Meeks has kept out of the spotlight for the most part. He did speak out in August when a company made plans to release an action figure of him. However, the company had to back off from its plans. A representative from That’s My Face said the following, according to Hello Beautiful:
“Unfortunately, a representative from GR Media, who claims to represent Jeremy Meeks, did eventually get back to us and prefers that we do not publicize our one-off custom figure of Jeremy. He demanded, under threat of legal action, that we remove the photos of the figure, which we have done.”
What do you think? Why is there a sensation over photos of this nature?
