“All things are lawful, but all are not profitable; all things are lawful, but all do not edify.” 1 Corinthians 10:23
The other night, I had a dream that I was eating at a restaurant with a group of people, and a tall and large man with no arms came up to me and said “I am your neighbor from down the street.” I shook his shoulder (since he had no arms all the way up to his shoulder). I remember feeling very annoyed by the interruption of this person.
Somewhere in my dream, this individual also stated that he was a police officer (he was in plain clothes when he came up to me, but I believed him). This man with no arms seemed to pop up in other places in my dream journey, saying things like “aren’t you going to say ‘hi’?” with the added on-going tagline “I am your neighbor from down the street.”
For the purpose of this dream, an arm represents Christ, a neighbor is someone who is not in Christ or of the flesh, and a street symbolizes the world and a place of busyness. In addition, a plainclothes police officer signifies being undercover (© 2011 Thompson and Beale. The Divinity Code).
It was my wife who helped me interpret this dream. I am grateful for her amazing gift of discernment, Godly wisdom and revelation, especially during these times where I am at a loss for the needed discovery, meaning, and significance of a particular dream or vision.
This man represented a distraction, as Christ was not in it or of it for me. This doesn’t mean that Christ isn’t in it for someone else; but if it is not part of my assignment, then I don’t have the anointing to carry or sustain it for very long, and I will start to operate in a fleshly anointing rather than a spiritual anointing.
In addition, how could this individual be an effective police officer with no arms? Too many times, things may seem good; but if these things aren’t where God wants us spending our time, then they become distractions for us because they take us away from our Kingdom business and assignments, as these things or relationships may be disguised as profitable, but really are undercover as good. Good is okay; but profitable is Kingdom. And we need to be about the Kingdom.
Spending too much time in the land of ‘good’ will take us away from our Divine Destiny and Kingdom Eternal purpose, as good will not edify us or greet us in our Kingdom assignment. This is the difference between walking in God’s permissive Will, versus walking in His perfect Will.
God will allow us to walk in His permissive Will, which is all fine and dandy—there is nothing wrong with it; but He really prefers us to walk in His perfect Will, which is where stuff really gets done for the advancement of the Father’s Kingdom!
Kingdom is the land where volcanos erupt and spill over with Holy Spirit Fire! This dwelling place called ‘God’s Perfect Will’ is where the atmosphere is constantly charged with Dunamis (Holy Spirit) Power (Ephesians 3:20)! It is here that miracles, signs, and wonders are a part of everyday life! God’s Holy fields, which are always green and plenteous, are grazed upon by the cattle on a thousand hills, and the lion lays down with the lamb while the pools at the feet of these hills are constantly stirred by the angels who splash healing to all who gather (Psalm 50:10, Isaiah 11:6, John 5:4). And at the center of this Perfect Place, the Son of God and Son of man is constantly lifted up high for everyone and everything to see, as all the inhabitants praise Him day and night and night and day singing “Worthy! Worthy! Worthy! Worthy is the Lamb of God Who sits on the Throne! There is none greater than He! Worthy is the Lamb Who was slain and took away the sins of the world! Worthy is He Whose Name has been placed above every other name! To God Be The Glory! For He has wiped away every tear from every eye; and there is no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. Nor is there any more pain, for the former things have passed away!” (John 12:32, Luke 2:14, Revelation 5:12, 12:4).
This, my brothers and sisters, is the difference between living in a place called ‘good,’ and dwelling in the land of ‘profitable.’ Are you ready to cross over from God’s permissive Will to His perfect Will? Great, me too! Let’s go!
Father, Help us to walk in Your land of profitable. Point our thoughts and ways to Your thoughts and ways, which are the higher and more perfect ways (Isaiah 55:8-9). By Your Holy Spirit, help us to break out of Your permissive Will and into Your Perfect Will. Set us in Your Divine Holy Ghost Gulf Stream, where we will flow in our Divine Destiny and Kingdom Eternal Purpose that You have prepared for each of us. In Jesus Name, we thank You that we walk in heavenly places in Your Kingdom, as your royal sons and daughters. Amen and Amen.
Take action! Challenge your thinking! Choose to crave the profitable over the good. Determine to not get caught up, caught into, caught off guard, or caught by distractions, which in and of themselves may seem good, but when applied to the backdrop of your Kingdom assignment, are not profitable for you. Ask God to show you the arms of Christ for every thing, and every relationship concerning you; and if Christ isn’t in it, then neither are you! And continue to fight the good fight of staying in the Kingdom; for God, your Divine Destiny, has already given you the victory!
If you have never received Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior, I encourage you to do it today, right now, by saying this prayer out loud: “Jesus, forgive me for my sins. I am sorry. I truly desire to be saved and reconciled back to God, my Father, through You. I receive Your sinless Blood as payment in full for my sins—past, present, and future. I now call You my Lord and Savior, and invite You to live within my heart, and to permanently live within me. I make You Lord over me and over my life from this moment on. Amen.” Congratulations! You are now a child of God, made whole and made new, by the Blood of Jesus Christ!
