SambAZ is bringing to Phoenix, the Rainha do Samba USA 2014 or, the 1st Annual Samba Queen contest, to elect the Queen of Samba on Saturday, October 4th 2014 at the Pressroom in Phoenix, Arizona.
Honoring Brazilian culture, the Rainha do Samba USA 2014, is a great way to celebrate Dance! This event will become an annual tradition in Phoenix celebrating our world’s diverse musical cultures and fostering global understanding.
SambAZ has hosted multiple Brazilian events in AZ including Brasil Fest AZ and Carnaval AZ both events had 800-1000 guests attendance. Over 1000 guests are expected for Rainha do Samba USA 2014 as it attracts a wide demographic of party goers. Guests will witness 75 sequined samba dancers, capoeira, folkloric dancers, as they groove to the ground shaking rhythms of Brazilian batucada, bands, DJs and more.
SambAZ dancers offer a visual feast with an extravagant performance of Brazilian Samba. This ensemble of dancers radiate sheer energy and passion incorporating the beauty, grace, and spirit of authentic Brasilian Carnaval culture. Grupo Liberdade one of the attractions in this event are a performance group and artist collective dedicated to freedom of expression through Movement & Sound. They promote community, empowerment & leadership drawing upon the traditional & contemporary rhythms of Brasil through earth-shakin’, body-jumpin’, heart-poundin’ desert batucada!
DJ Potira from Los Angeles will be blending eclectic Brazilian beats with urban cultures. She believes the natural fit of all different types of music, and her Brazilian background help her read any audience, whether it’s to get a venue jumping or to set the mood to an art gallery cocktail reception.
