Ashonod’s Coupon from Unglued is one of the most zany Magic: The Gathering cards ever printed. This rare artifact can’t be used in any official DCI sanctioned tournament due to its silver border, however it’ll leave you and your friends in an uproar of laughter in casual games.
Ashnod’s Coupon – 0
Sacrifice Ashnod’s Coupon: Target player gets you target drink.
Errata: You pay any costs for the drink.
Limited time offer. Void where prohibited. Limit one per purchase. Valid only in participating duels. This coupon is nontransferable and invalid if shattered, crumbled, detonated, pillaged, or otherwise disenchanted. Cash value less than 1/20 of a cent. Offer not valid in Quebec, Rhode Island, or where prohibited by law or the DCI.
It’s important to note that the errata to Ashnod’s Coupon only says you pay the costs for the drink itself, not any other associated costs. That means you can be witty and ask for an obscure drink from halfway around the world as you won’t need to pay for their airplane ticket.
Many players mistakenly believe Ashnod’s Coupon combos well with R&D’s Secret Lair, as it removes the errata from the card making your opponent have to pay for your drink, however R&D’s Secret Lair says play as they are written and Ashnod’s Coupon has the errata written directly on the card itself.
One way to abuse Ashnod’s Coupon might be to Mindslaver an opponent then donate Ashnod’s Coupon to them with Zedruu The Greathearted. Because you’ll control their turn and all actions for them, you’ll be able to choose the drink that you (or another player if it’s a multiplayer game) buys, using your opponent’s money, and then you’ll be able to drink it.
The only way for your adversary to prevent themselves from getting you a drink is to concede the game. It’s a win either way.
