Starting now and continuing through November 2, Bahama Breeze will host a special event called Rumtoberfest. As you can imagine, rum is a big part of the event. New rum-themed food and drink items will be available to guests along with instant prizes and vacation giveaways.
We like Bahama Breeze for its decor, Carribean-themed food, and frequent live calypso music that provide an “escapist” experience, which takes diners to the islands. Given that it’s a Darden restaurant, diners can expect the industry-wide quality control that diners come to expect from the chain. They also keep prices down and that’s why we featured it in our list of affordable dining options in Jacksonville. Our favorite items on the Bahama Breeze menu include the Jamaican Jerk Chicken ($12), which is marinated in jerk seasoning then roasted and paired with yellow rice, black beans, and plantains. We also recommend their classic Coconut Shrimp, which are served with citrus-mustard dipping sauce.
Thursdays during Rumtoberfest are deemed “RumThursty” and will include live music, contests, etc. At the Jacksonville Bahama Breeze location, Laree App will perform live on October 2 from 8pm-12am. During RumThursty, Patrons can participate in Bahama Breeze Instagram Sweeps for a chance to win a vacation to Breezes Resort & Spa in the Bahamas. To enter, guests at the restaurant have to post a photo of themselves at the restaurant on Instragram with the hashtag #RumSweeps. The resort is on a 1,000-foot piece of property on Cable Beach in Nassau. Basically all food, drinks, and activities are included in an upfront fee that includes tips. Breezes Resort & Spa has three pools on property with lots of activities like tennis, volleyball, kayaking, wind surfing, and tennis. The on-site Blue Mahoe Spa offers services at an additional cost. In addition to the RumSweeps contest, the restaurant will also conduct in-house giveaways of gift cards, shirts, etc. to celebrate RumThursty.
New Rumtoberfest menu items include five refreshing fresh fruit mojitos. The flavors of the mojitos span from sweet (Strawberry Mojito with Bacardi Dragonfruit rum and fresh strawberries) to spicy (Mango Jalapeño Mojito with Cruzan Mango rum, mango puree and jalapeños). Other specialty drink options include a rum flight with specialty rums like Seven Fathoms, Pyrat XO Reserve, and Zaya Gran Reserva 12 Year.
As for Rumtoberfest food, Bahama Breeze is featuring multiple special items that are infused with rum. For starters, diners can enjoy the Rum and Coke wings. These chicken wings are covered in a house-made sauce featuring Myers’ Original Dark Rum. Rum Cake is also available. This delectable item is made with Bacardi Oakheart Rum with raisin butterscotch sauce on top, alongside vanilla bean ice cream.
