Texoma People Who Care will present Barnstock on Saturday, October 4, 2014 inside the Mayor Arena at Loy Lake Park in Denison. Texas. Barnstock promises to be a great evening of country music with the wildly popular recording artist Whiskey Meyers as the headline performer.
Rolling Stone Country picked the Whiskey Meyers recently released album “Early Morning Shakes” as one of the Top 26 Albums of 2014. The Whiskey Meyers band sings about what they know with a refreshing directness and clarity. Some call it rebel music, but it’s more like everyday soul. Their songs are stories, with relatable characters and situations. Stories of celebration, of mourning, of trials and triumph. Through the quality of these songs, and the band’s undeniable power in concert and on record, Whiskey Myers has attracted a devoted army of fans who pack venues, sing the band’s praises online, and continue to make them a growing word-of-mouth sensation
Country Music Weekly says Whiskey Meyers newest album release “Early Morning Shakes, combines those greasy Southern rock riffs with countrified songwriting and Texas grit for something wholly unique.”
The Barnstock concert will also feature local favorite Brent Frailicks. A graduate of Savoy High School, Brent has been making music since he was a little kid. A singer, songwriter, fiddler, and guitarist, Brent is a big fan of Classic and Modern Country, Bluegrass, Gospel, and Traditional musical styles, and his own music is a mixture of all these genres. When you hear Brent’s music in person or on CD, you can instantly tell that this guy is a country boy that loves country music.
All proceeds from the concert will go to support the kids involved in agriculture programs in Grayson County. Texoma People Who Care (PWC) was organized in June 2006 as a group of concerned supporters from all over Grayson County to raise money for the Texoma Livestock and Exposition Show.
Texoma People Who Care awards two scholarships each year to graduating seniors that participate in the Texas Livestock Exposition Show. To be eligible for the Texoma People Who Care scholarships, the students must live in Grayson County. The Texoma People Who Care organization strongly believes youth participating in agriculture programs learn many important lessons in life. They watch life begin and end, discover hard work builds character and learn respect, love and compassion.
