Now entering its third year, Bon Appétit presents Feast Portland: A Celebration Of Oregon Bounty 2014 launches on September 18, 2014. This four day festival features a lineup of over 30 events showcasing Pacific Northwest ingredients and local culinary talent, as well as internationally known chefs and other industry professionals.
Last year Feast Portland had nearly 11,000 attendees though with a number of events already sold out, this year looks to surpass these numbers. Here are some of Feast Portland’s signature events that still have tickets available at the time of this posting.
Thursday’s night marquee event, Widmer Brother’s Brewing Sandwich Invitational presented by Dave’s Killer Bread presents 14 of America’s top chefs competing for the ultimate honor of creating the best sandwich ever. Guests vote for their favorite sandwich while washing down their selections with local Widmer Brothers Brewing beers, Northwest wines and cocktails.
On Friday, September 19th and Saturday, September 20th, savor Oregon’s artisan offerings at The Oregon Bounty Grand Tasting Presented by Alaska Airlines. From noon to 5pm, guests can eat and drink through Oregon’s wineries, breweries and artisan food.
The Oregonian Media Group High Comfort at The Nines held on Saturday, September 20th from 6pm to 9pm will feature more than 20 chefs taking comfort food out of its comfort zone and into High Comfort replete with wines from Oregon’s top winemakers.
In addition, limited tickets are available for some of the highly popular dinner series, tasting panels and hands on classes.
All Feast Portland event prices are all inclusive, which means that once tickets are purchased, there are no additional charges for food, drinks or gratuity at the event. Also, while the main events will have some vegetarian options the events are omnivore friendly so to allow their participating chefs full creativity. Unless otherwise noted, all events are for the 21 and older crowd.
Those looking to do good while eating well can take comfort in Feast Portland’s commitment to two charities, working to end hunger in Oregon and around the country – Share Our Strength and Partners for a Hunger-Free Oregon. To date, they’ve donated over $99,000 to these charitable partners. In addition, Feast Portland works with these charities by raising awareness at events, chef appearances, panel discussions and community outreach programs.
