Bella Thorne, who starred on the popular Disney Channel TV series, Shake It Up, is on the cover of the June/July 2014 issue of Seventeen magazine. Carissa Rosenberg Tozzi interviewed Bella for the cover story.
When asked about Shake It Up, which stars two teen dancers, Bella said she did not know how to dance when the show started. She took dance classes and put in extra time working with the show’s choreographer, because she didn’t want to be embarrassed. Bella said she and her co-star Zendaya were not friends at first, because people kept comparing them. Eventually, they were able to work out their differences.
Today, Bella can be described as busy and determined. She said, “I like having a lot of things going on. I’m all about getting things done.” Like her father, who died when she was 9-years-old, Bella doesn’t take no for an answer. It took her a year-and-a-half to convince Neutrogena that she wasn’t too young to be a Neutrogena girl. Bella is also a Candies Shoes spokesperson.
In November, her fiction series Autumn Falls will be released. Autumn Falls is about a girl who writes wishes in a journal that come true. Bella also has an album coming out.
Bella can be seen in the movie Blended. Drew Barrymore and Adam Sandler are the stars of Blended. Bella plays Adam Sandler’s daughter. Bella was impressed by Drew Barrymore, because she always sees the positive side of life. Bella believes girls should support each other, not tear each other apart. She likes to be friends with girls who have boundaries, because they typically have self-respect.
Bella is dating Tristan Klier. Bella didn’t kiss Tristan for six weeks, because she wanted to make sure they really liked each other. She believes having sex is a decision girls should make with their parents and God. She also thinks girls shouldn’t have sex unless they are 100 percent sure they want to. Tristan and Bella have an agreement not to argue with each other before one of his games or one of her auditions.
