“Big Brother” is a game loved by many. It is a huge hit every summer on CBS and if fans had their way, there would be two seasons a year. Season 16 has been lacking the drama that ran rampant during Season 15. The “Big Brother 16” finale is set to air in just a few days and predictions about the outcome are all over the place. On September 22 Judd Daugherty granted the Chicago Television Examiner an exclusive phone interview. From “Big Brother 16” to his personal life, nothing was off-limits.
There was no way Judd was going to get away from the interview without being asked about “Big Brother 16” and who he thought he would win. Derrick is the player favored to win but Judd said; “ Cody because he has a good shot at winning the final Head of Household. Derrick played the best game, but Cody can win the final HOH and decide to take either Derrick or Victoria.”
On Twitter Judd has endorsed Donny Thompson for America’s Favorite Player. The voting ended today and the winner will be announced live on September 24 during the “Big Brother 16” finale. When asked what he liked about Donny Judd replied; “I like Donny because he put up with a lot. He was sort of treated like less than a human and excluded from a lot of what was going on.” While Judd won’t be attending the finale, he will be at several after parties. When asked who he was excited to meet from this season he said; “Donny, Hayden, and Nicole. I have already met Amber and look forward to meeting Brittany and Devin. I have talked to them but haven’t met them yet.”
Judd Daugherty was evicted from “Big Brother” in fifth place during Season 15. There was plenty of controversy throughout the season but Judd managed to steer clear most of it. When asked about the most memorable moments of his season, he stated; “The first would be being blindsided in the double eviction. I did get to come back two weeks later and it gave me time to think and get a new strategy. The second would be the nomination speech Ginamarie gave when Candice and Jessie were nominated. It was like when you are in church and know you shouldn’t laugh, but you just can’t hold it in. The thrid would be moving into the house. It is in indescribable feeling to know that you are going into the house. It was an accomplishment no matter where I placed.”
Obviously when you are a part of “Big Brother” you are filmed 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Judd talked a little bit about that and said; “At first it was incredibly intimidating. After a while you become comfortable with being filmed, but you never forget about the cameras.” When you are in the “Big Brother” house you have no access to the outside world. There are no televisions, no phones, and no access to media at all. When asked about what was allowed in the house for entertainment Judd replied; “Board games were given to us when there were seven of us left in the house. If we wanted to bring in a Bible we could, but they were not given in the house. No books of any kind were allowed.” Judd was a “Big Brother” fan before entering the house. Fans always want to know who Judd’s favorite all-time player is and he stated; “Dan Gheesling. He was the reason I wanted to be on the show. Also, Keisha. I met her in Orlando with McCrae.”
Fans adore Judd Daugherty because of his down-to-earth persona. He made the “bear” shirt famous during Season 15 of “Big Brother” and Wal-Mart quickly sold out of them. In fact, some are being sold on Ebay for ridiculous amounts. Judd had this to say about the shirt; “I still have my bear shirt. I bought it the Christmas before the show. It is hanging in my closet and I have no plans to sell it.” Also there have been rumors about whether or not Judd was single. When asked if he was in a relationship or single he replied; “I am absolutely single. I am looking. I don’t have a type either. I want to eventually settle down and have kids. Most of my friends are married now.”
Judd Daugherty has a huge heart and often interacts with his fans. His website Juddnation offers photos of him with the “Big Brother” gang, merchandise to purchase that can be personalized with an autograph, and news on upcoming events. In November Judd is going to be involved with St. Jude’s Give Thanks Walk in Knoxville, Tennessee. This is an important cause for Daugherty and you can join his team if you are in the area.
