Bloomsbury’s latest editions of the “Harry Potter” series will include content from J.K. Rowling’s Pottermore website, according to French fan site La Gazette du Sorcier.
Facts about the wizarding world will be included at the end of each chapter, targeted to younger readers and encouraging a more interactive reading experience, which corresponds with the goal of Pottermore itself and encourages readers to visit. The books will also include a map of Hoagwarts, as well as a four-page biography of writer J.K. Rowling and a fact sheet about her at the end of the final book, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Some minor layout changes have also been made.
The new books will also feature new cover art by illustrator Jonny Duddle, depicting an important scene from each book.
Bloomsbury’s website has been updated to complement the new editions, featuring downloadable images of Duddle’s artwork, a quote generator, glossary, and more. The publisher will also be placing a giant 3D version of the cover for Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone at King’s Cross Station in London tomorrow, September 30, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Bloomsbury’s new editions of “Harry Potter” will be released September 1 in the UK. They will also be releasing fully illustrated versions of the books with art by Jim Kay in 2015.
