Tuesday night June 10, a see-and-be-seen crowd of artists, designers and celebrities gathered at New York’s Plaza Hotel for amFar Inspiration Gala, 2014. Attendees included Fergie and Sarah Jessica Parker, as well as host Josh Duhamel.
The runway show, pictures included in the slide show, highlighted menswear that pushes the edge, just what we’d expect for an event that celebrates men’s fashion and style and was centered around the use of print in men’s fashions. The Inspiration Series of events began in 2010 to raise money for AIDS research, and since then, galas have been held in New York, Los Angeles, Paris, São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Toronto, and Miami. So far more than $15 million has been raised through these Inspiration Series events.
This year, the New York event honored AIDS activist HRH Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway, HBO and Calvin, for the impact the honorees have made on AIDS research.
A gala in true style, the black-tie evening featured a performance by British rock band New Order, dinner, a live auction of luxury goods, and the runway show of menswear which is held in the Plaza’s historic Palm Court.
