A great number of outdoor women like to play hard outside just as much as the men do, but that doesn’t mean they necessarily brush off all femininity and don’t like to have something a little stylish and simple to wear like a pair of earrings. Most women just don’t wear jewelry because it’s not usually sturdy enough to handle their outdoor playing. Bronwen Handcrafted Jewelry solves that issue with the functional yet fashionable line of sophisticated and urban pieces that bring a touch of that femininity to give a simple yet classy look to the already great outdoors woman.
Bronwen Jewelry is artisan-made locally by hand using only pure sterling silver, gold vermeil and top-quality stones and glass. The active jewelry has features such as durability, adjustability, being water-friendly, and styling. The jewelry isn’t going to break easily and will withstand those rapids or a hard day at the crag. The materials such as 100% nylon cordelette and top quality stones and beads makes for the water-friendly part, which means go out and get sweaty and wet without having to worry about ruining the jewelry. Bracelets will fit just about every wrist; necklaces are adjustable and versatile and can be worn short or long for different looks and sports.
The individual behind this exclusive jewelry is Bronwen Lodato. This beautiful, spirited woman is no stranger to the outdoors or to making jewelry. She’s been making jewelry for as long as she can remember, and she took that passion and turned it into her thriving business. Inspiration for her work stems from a life lived in motion whether it’s stand-up paddling, sailing, slacklining or just being among the beauty of the outdoors. Her story of how she grew up, became extremely obsessed with making jewelry, graduated with a degree in Anthropology from the University of Colorado, and went from logistics for the Pacific Crest Outward Bound School in central Oregon (where she met her future husband which just happened to be the hiring manager) to instructor of the Mountain/River combination course in the Three Sisters Wilderness to teacher in high school literature and finally founder and designer of Bronwen Jewelry, is a story that one needs to hear from Bronwen herself. Somewhere among all her ventures, she also became a certified yoga instructor. You can’t help but to be inspired and touched by her zest for life and for her incredible talent for making beautiful things while living her life to the fullest.
The Bronwen Jewelry line also includes a men’s line, and in 2012, the ‘petite b’ line for children was launched. Two new bracelets for fall include the Active Beleza Bracelet and Tiny Charm Bead Bracelet. Also for fall comes the Blonde Leather Cuff which features fire-polished Czech glass on a vegetable tanned, hand-cut and sewn leather cuff with a snap closure in two sizes. You’ll also see the Diamonds in the Sky Necklace and the delicate Tiny Charm Earrings for the fall line.
