Although known for their wings and many dipping sauces, Buffalo Wild Wings http://www.buffalowildwings.com/en/ also has 4 burgers ($9.99- $11.29) for the non-wing lovers. Being both a wing & burger lover you’d think I was in heaven and for this review as I visited this national chain’s, Talking Stick location in Scottsdale to taste a few wings and their Black & Blue burger at $10.29.
It’s pretty obvious that wings are the name of the game here and by the looks and taste of this burger we know why there is no reference to burgers in the name. This rather lackluster burger came served on an un-toasted bun with lettuce, tomato & red onion slices garnishing the bottom half of the burger while the burger was topped with blue cheese crumbles that are dusted with spicy seasoning. Rather basic and un-inspiring I found the meat to be lacking any juices with all the flavors coming from the blue cheese with seasoning being added after the burger was cooked and dominated by blue cheese. The burgers are served with natural cut fries and I found them to be hot, crispy and good.
On the positive side with the bar set low there is always room for improvement and I hope they put as much emphasis on the burgers as they do on their wings and sauces.
