The radical American Islamic Muslim group, the Council of American Islamic Relations (CAIR) has begun building a list of prominent Americans and organizations, of whom they accuse of being “Islamophobic”, potentially putting such individuals lives in danger by lone wolf ISIS terrorists and sympathizers. Dr. Rich Swier, a 23-year Army veteran who retired as a Lieutenant Colonel in 1990 and publisher of DrRichSwier.com e-magazine, reported the news of the existence of the list on Wednesday. The list includes U.S. Representatives and U.S. Senators, concerned individuals, retired military veterans, news organizations such as Fox News and the Washington Times, and other groups and individuals knowledgeable about the dangers of radical Islamic Muslims.
Swier said, “There is a growing concern that converts to Islam in America and Canada are ready, ideologically willing and certainly able to conduct individual attacks against soldiers, police, and innocent civilians.” Swier stated that the purpose of the CAIR website is to so-called, “To monitor and challenge the growing anti-Muslim bigotry in American society. CAIR’s Islamophobia.org site presents detailed profiles of a number of individuals and institutions involved in the American Islamophobia network.” CAIR is characterized by some as a “moderate” Islamic organization. However, an anonymous quote on the internet states, “A radical Muslim wants to behead you. A moderate Muslim wants a radical Muslim to behead you.”
Swier points out and asks the question, “Will the Islamic State use the CAIR list of Islamophobes to attack these individuals?” The listing and website by CAIR appeared not long after the Associated Pressed reported that the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) issued a bulletin stating, “Security will be increased at various federal government buildings in Washington and other major American cities, in what it described as a “precautionary step.” DHS stated that the move was the result after a gunman in Ottawa fatally shot a soldier as he stood as a ceremonial guard at Ottawa’s National War Memorial, then stormed the Parliament building in which Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper called the shooting a terrorist attack.
One of the members on CAIR’s list is Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) who recently was granted 24-hour, 7-day a week security due to threats to her life by ISIS that was posted on-line. The news was obtained from Politico who reportedly stated that Federal law enforcement officials were taking an ISIS threat against Rep. Bachmann seriously and that Capitol Police have given the Minnesota Republican her own security detail.
CAIR has been involved in radical Islamic patterns in the past and in one incident, in 2009, the FBI broke off formal outreach contacts with CAIR, following the Holy Land Foundation trial and rising concerns about the organization’s ties with Hamas, which is considered a terrorist group by the U.S. government. CAIR’s ties to radical Islamic terrorists and associated groups have been well documented over the years.
