While Sledgehammer hasn’t revealed too many details regarding the narrative of Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, they surely have given enough tidbits to keep players interested in what could be next for the stalwart shooter franchise.
Aaron Halon, Senior Development Director, Sledgehammer Games spoke with Examiner about the relationship players can expect to have with Spacey’s cold, distant, and decisive head of Atlas Corporations in the game’s campaign.
“Kevin Spacey plays Jonathan Irons,” said Halon, “[Kevin] was a real joy to work with, very professional and just elevated the other actors around him, elevated scripted, it was a real treat.”
Spacey’s Irons is the head of the largest Private Military Contractor in Advanced Warfare’s bleak future where PMCs fight the conflicts in place of standing armies. Irons is touted as being “one of the most powerful men in the world” according to Advanced Warfare’s website, following up with “Power changes everything”.
Another question awaiting resolution is the relationship between Irons and our main protagonist, Mitchell. Halon said,
“We see their relationships sort of evolve and change over the course of the game.”
Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare comes out November 3 for Playstation 4, Playstation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC. Current incentives for preordering the game include 24 hours of Double XP as well as two custom weapons, a custom exoskeleton, and a “directed energy weapon”.
