A six-year-old boy with Down Syndrome is dead, and his uncle is the prime suspect in his slaying. Officials in Callaway County, Missouri have arrested 27-year-old Scottie Willet, according to this Thursday news report. The case is still developing, so it’s not really known at this time why the man reportedly shot the little boy, who was originally reported missing on Thursday at around 3:15 a.m.
His body was found in Scottie’s bedroom at around 4:00 a.m., after a brief search, and a handgun was found in his vehicle. Officials say that Scottie Willet admitted to shooting the six-year-old boy (who isn’t being named) with his handgun. He’s been charged with first-degree murder and “armed criminal action.”
This report embellishes on the details more, stating that Scottie Willie allegedly shot the six-year-old multiple times, and that he may not be the uncle of the child, but a family friend. As stated previously, the details of this case are very sparse and still in development so it’s hard to determine what actually happened aside from the fact that the child is dead. Officials are not releasing any known motive at this time.
