Actor, comedian and radio show host, Steve Harvey is all about giving back to the people that have allowed him to achieve all his goals and live a blessed life.
That is part of the reason he puts on his “Neighborhood Awards” each year, honoring those who shine in our local communities around the country.
Harvey says at the Neighborhood Awards, the roles are reversed. This time it’s celebrities honoring average citizens that go to work and try to make a difference each and every day.
Harvey joked with the nominees as they found out, being in front of 12,000 people in Philips Arena is being on the big stage.
“You ain’t been to the Emmys. You ain’t been to the Oscars. You ain’t been to the Grammys,” Harvey exclaimed. “You got your suit on layaway!”

On August 9, 2014, Harvey took over Philips Arena in Atlanta and gave out awards to the “Best Barbershop,” “Best Coach,” “Best Church Choir” and “Best Nail Salon” along with many others.

It was a great night and the fun really went on throughout the weekend as there were seminars, a tradeshow and a charity golf tournament held on Sunday.
