Cursed Rack is a fearsome Magic: The Gathering card from one of the game’s earliest sets, Antiquities. This artifact limits your opponent’s maximum hand size to just four cards.
Cursed Rack – 4
As Cursed Rack enters the battlefield, choose an opponent.
The chosen player’s maximum hand size is four.
Ashnod invented several torture techniques that could make victims even miles away beg for mercy as if the End had come.
If you can manage to get Cursed Rack out early enough, say from a Sol Ring, Mox, Dark Ritual, Mana Crypt, or Mana Vault, you’ll be able to make your opponent discard several cards and gain card advantage. Even if you aren’t able to put Cursed Rack onto the battlefield in the beginning of the game it can still have a large impact on the duel.
Cursed Rack is excellent against control decks that like to draw lots of cards. Worried about your rival holding a counter for every card in your hand? They won’t be, as you can play “draw, go” with your enemy until you have a full seven or eight cards and they have only four.
