Tonight’s Dancing with the Stars had a lot of tricks and treats for its audience. Head Judge Len returned to the ballroom as well as co-host Erin Andrews. And the ballroom was all decorated for the Halloween Special. Tonight’s episode consisted of two rounds: the individual dances and the popular team dance.
After receiving his best scores last week, Tommy and Peta were the first couple to hit the dance floor with a Quickstep routine. Head judge Len praised Tommy for learning the Quickstep, one of the hardest of the ballroom dances. Carrie Ann praised Tommy and Peta for performing a technically perfect Quickstep. The judges gave them a score of 28 out of 40 for the first round; however, their team dance will add more points to their score. If you want to see them in next week’s competition, you have to vote for them tonight. Their number to call in your vote is 3413.
Tonight, fans get 8 votes per phone line, email address, and on Facebook. Phones lines will remain open until 1 hour after show time. The phone number to call in your votes is 1-800-868-34xx (xx is the couple’s number)
After some disappointing judges comments last week and landing in the middle of the leader board, Lea and Artem were feeling the pressures of week 7. This week they performed an Argentine Tango. Julianne told them to not forget to have fun with their dances and it showed this week. Head judge Len praised their routine for being clean and precise but it still lacked chemistry. The judges gave them a score of 34 out of 40 for the first round but they still have the scores from their team dance. Their number to call in your vote is 3407.
Bethany and Derek performed a Paso Doble routine that Carrie Ann said was a flawless performance. The judges gave them a score of 39 out of 40 for round 1 but they still have the scores from their team dance. Their number to call in your vote is 3403.
Antonio and Cheryl performed a Viennese Waltz routine to the song, “I put a spell on you.” The judges gave them a score of 27 out of 40 for the first round. After the scores were revealed, Antonio said that this performance was for his fans.
Michael and Emma performed a Jive routine but none of the judges were pleased with the performance. Carrie Ann said that it would have been a great freestyle routine but they did not perform a proper Jive. The judges gave them a score of 20 out of 40 for the first round, however they still have the team dance round to help them out. Their number to call in your vote is 3409.
Janel and Val also performed a Viennese Waltz routine to the theme song from Pretty Little Liars. The judges gave them a score of 31 out of 40 for round 1. Their number to call in your vote is 3405.
Alfonso and Witney performed a Rumba routine in which Head judge Len praise them for performing a proper Rumba. The judges gave them a score of 36 out of 40 for round 1. Sadie and Mark finished out the first round with a Zombie inspired Paso Doble. The judges gave them a score of 30 out of 40 for the first round. Their number to call your vote is 3411.
Round Two brought back the popular team dances. The team dances can greatly improve individual scores. The team captains were chosen after last week’s show. For #TeamItsyBitsy, Bethany and Derek chose Lea and Artem, Janel and Val, and Michael and Emma as their teammates. The judges gave them a score of 36 out of 40; which will be added to their individual scores for the night. Everyone from #TeamItsyBitsy was safe from elimination.
For #TeamCreeypy, Alfonso and Witney chose Antonio and Cheryl, Sadie and Mark, and Tommy and Peta as their teammates. The judges gave them a score of 32 out of 40; which will be added to their individual scores. Before #TeamCreeypy danced, it was revealed that they were all in jeopardy. And after the scores were revealed, Antonio and Cheryl were eliminated from the competition.
For the fans and the people who go to see the show, we don’t know the difference between a technical dance and a not technical one but we love to see the entertainment of the dance and that’s what most people get out of the show. The judges do hope to give constructive advice to help the celebrity improve.
