Fans of “The Good Wife” have to be thrilled that a television legend is joining the cast of the popular law drama on CBS. As viewers get settled to watch a new season of “Good Wife,” they have learned that David Hyde Pierce will be a reoccurring guest. According to CBS News on Friday, this is Pierce’s first appearance in a television series since “Frasier” ended its run in 2004.
The show offers a look at socially charged issues in a metropolitan law firm setting. Giving people a chance to see different sides of an issue while defending clients, there is never a dull moment for the main character Alicia Florrick (played by Julianna Margulies) who comes across plenty of interesting people to defend (or fight off depending on the episode.)
While David hasn’t been on television much, he definitely is a familiar face on Broadway. He has appeared in “Monty Python’s Spamalot,” “Curtains,” “Le Bete” and “Vanya and Sonya and Masha and Spike.” He has even been honored with a Tony for his work. Add all the major movies the star has been seen in and he surely has been busy!
David Hyde Pierce will play a respected cable news legal commentator on “The Good Wife.” The character is so disgusted by the corruption that he makes a choice to make for a change. Looking at the murder rate in Chicago he decides to run for office. His decision offers a look at how he expects to affect change. It also causes some chaos as he becomes part of the dynamics on the show.
Fans are wondering if Michael J. Fox will be returning for the upcoming season of “The Good Wife” as well. The star definitely made an impression last season!
