Did you ever wish you could see inside a mouse hole or look down a pipe for a lost ring? The DBPower Mini Waterproof Endoscope can do both and take videos and pictures in the process. The 6 Leds provide bright light to illuminate the path ahead of the camera. It comes at an affordable price for household use and hobbyists.
- USB Endoscope
- Software on a Mini-CD
- Mirror – 45 degree view
- User Manual
The mini-CD has the software application that you will need for Win 2000, Vista or Win 7. XP has utilities already installed that you can use but installing the new software offers a few extra viewing options. I installed the software on both XP and Win 7 and experienced no problems. It provided the means to take video and snapshots with the Endoscope attached to a USB port.
At one end of the 33 foot (10 Meter) cable is the 7mm camera with 6 led lights. At the other end of the cable is a USB plug which is about the size of a flash drive with a brightness control on the side to adjust the light of the camera. Some of the suggested uses are for the endoscope include oral examination, search and rescue, pipeline inspection, engine inspection, video monitor, sewer pipe inspection, cast mold in-wall inspection, etc. You can probably come up with some other excellent uses once you get started. I viewed the interior of an empty soda can, the contents of a drawer that would only open part way, and that deep dark space behind my desk where the dust bunnies hide. All were clearly viewable with the little camera and taking pictures or capturing video was easy with the software tools provided.
- 10 m flexible cable with 7mm outer diameter camera head
- VGA 300K CMOS camera
- Waterproof so that you can inspect area under water, gaps and holes.
- Capture video in AVI format or image in JPG format.
- Built-in 6 LED light (with Brightness Control) on camera head to illuminate the inspection area.
The bright Leds provide a lot of light in conditions of total darkness but only for about 3 or 4 inches in front of the camera but that was more than adequate to capture images of surprisingly good quality. Due to the curving nature of the cable, usage is best in a confined space that will help guide the cable forward in the desired direction.

The review sample I received was the 10 m size of the Endoscope but it is also available in a shorter 7 m size. Both are available on Amazon, with the larger model selling for $17.99 with free shipping on qualifying orders, and the 7 m model for $25.99 (+ $4.95 shipping). The products are sold by Bravolink and fulfilled by Amazon.
