The Doraville MARTA station is just a block away from Buford Highway, Atlanta’s international food mecca. And there are plenty of options when it comes to restaurants near the station, from Latin American and Mexican to Asian and American.
So if you have a craving for tacos or dumplings or even waffles, Doraville is the place to go. Here are your options:
Buford Highway North
Exit the station’s parking lot via the stoplight at Park Drive or Central Avenue and walk down to Buford Highway and turn left for:
Han II Kwan
Han II Kwan features Korean BBQ and traditional Korean dishes. They grill at your table as a bonus.
Across the street from Han II Kwan you’ll find one of Atlanta’s favorite spots: Waffle House. Be sure to cross the street at a crosswalk — Buford Highway is known to be dangerous for pedestrians.
La Casona Taqueria Y Billares
If you’ve never tried Columbian food, you can do so here, and also order breakfast if you don’t want Waffle House. The restaurant is located behind the QuikTrip — turn left on Stewart Road from Buford Highway.
Buford Highway South
Exit the station’s parking lot via the stoplight at Park Drive and walk down Park to Buford Highway and turn right for:
1968 at Cafe 101
Enjoy Asian dishes, noodles and dumplings at this restaurant. A small weekend buffet is offered along with lunches under $9.
For Chinese food that is fast and inexpensive, head next door to China Bucks.
Monterrey Mexican Restaurant
If you’re craving tacos and queso, Monterrey has you covered. They even have fried ice cream.
You’ll find both Korean and Chinese dishes at Yen Jing. Choose from a variety of dumplings, noodles and meat, seafood and vegetable dishes.
El Rey Del Taco
Open late, you can enjoy handmade tortillas, drinks and most of the sport events from Mexico, Latin America and Europe here.
Sokongdong Tofu House
Vegetarians (and meat eaters) rejoice. There are many options for both at this Korean spot. Look for the restaurant in the Pinetree West strip center.
Tiesto’s Cafe Restaurant
You’ll find Latin American and Ecuadorian food at Tiesto’s. Breakfast, smoothies and coffees are also on the menu.
For a sandwich on fresh bread, dessert or brunch and coffee, adventure to the Paris Baguette for a taste of France.
This pizza chain offers a quick bite to eat — whether pizza or wings. It’s in the shopping center near Dollar Tree. Remember to use the crosswalk when crossing the street!
Dim Sum Heaven
In the same shopping center as Little Caesar’s is Dim Sum Heaven. As the name suggests, dim sum is on the menu along with Chinese dishes.
Sweet Hut Bakery Cafe
This favorite Asian bakery and cafe serves sweet treats and sandwiches with as Asian influence. And yes, bubble teas are on the menu.
McDonald’s is about a 12-minute walk from the station if you need a burger or nuggets with fries.
