Please. So many people are so critically of Blu-ray editions. What are they doing . . . watching them under special microscopes to notice something no one else could see?
We simply pop the disc in the machine and chill out.
Or thrill out, depending on the genre.
Here, four more Disney classics to hit shelves and your bookcase library Tuesday.
The adventures of an orphaned infant raised by a family of gorillas and ultimately accepted as one of their own. As Tarzan matures into a young man with all the instincts of a jungle animal and the physical prowess of an athletic superstar, his life changes forever when he finally meets other humans, with whom he feels an immediate and irrestible bond.
The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad + Fun and Fancy Free The first story is a retelling of Kenneth Grahame’s classic, The Wind in the Willows. J. Thaddeus Toad, owner of Toad Hall, is prone to fads, such as the newfangled motor car. This desire for the very latest lands him in much trouble with the wrong crowd, and it is up to his friends, Mole, Rat and Badger to save him from himself. The second story is a retelling of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, Washington Irving’s story set in Tarrytown, New York, where Ichabod Crane, the new schoolmaster, falls for the town beauty, Katrina Van Tassel, and the town Bully Brom Bones decides that he is a little too successful and needs “convincing” that Katrina is not for him.
There’s a third treat inside: The Reluctant Dragon.
Taken from the gods as a newborn and adopted on earth by human parents, Hercules, son of Zeus and Hera, becomes an awkward teenage pillar of strength. But in trying to fit in, the budding warrior discovers his home is on Mount Olympus… if, that is, he can move from “zero” to true hero. Teaming with Pegasus, the flying stallion, and Phil, his feisty personal trainer, Hercules becomes determined to reclaim his birthright. To do so, he has to first match wits with Grecian beauty Meg and then take on the comically hotheaded Hades, who’s having a devil of a time with his hostile takeover of the Universe. Armed with morphing morons Pain and Panic, Hades needs only rid himself of one obstacle: Hercules.
