Disneyland Resort will celebrate the Fourth of July with a holiday-themed fireworks spectacular, special pre-show for “World of Color” and some patriotic-themed entertainment. Disneyland guests are also invited to demonstrate their Independence Day “Disney Side” at some of the park’s regular attractions.
From July 1 – 4, Disneyland Park offers its seasonal fireworks show, “Disney’s Celebrate America! A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky.” The special pyrotechnics display pays tribute spirit, music and beauty of America with a fireworks display choreographed to a musical score.
The score for these holiday fireworks includes such classics as “God Bless America,” “Yankee Doodle Dandy,” “America the Beautiful,” This Land is Your Land,” “The Star-Spangled Banner” and “The Stars and Stripes Forever.” “Disney’s Celebrate America” begins at 9:25 p.m., lighting up the skies above Sleeping Beauty Castle.
In addition to the fireworks, Disneyland will host the 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing Band again. The band will perform several times on Friday, July 4 and appear at various locations around the park. Look for the band along the parade route at 3:30 p.m., just before the “Frozen” pre-parade and the Mickey’s Soundsational Parade.
The 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing Band also participates in Disneyland’s flag retreat ceremony, which takes place in Town Square at 5:30 p.m. The band then takes the parade route back to “it’s a small world” at 5:45 p.m. In the evening of July 4, guests can see the band at Big Thunder Ranch Jamboree; the performance begins at 7:15 p.m.
At Disney California Adventure Park (DCA), “World of Color” features an Independence Day pre-show to take place prior to the July 4 performances at 9 p.m. and 10:15 p.m.
Disney guests are invited to show off their patriotic Disney side during the holiday. Guests who have “Glow with the Show” Ear Hats may wish to wear them on July 4. They will be part of both “Disney’s Celebrate America!” fireworks and DCA’s “World of Color” water spectacular.
Guests may also demonstrate their Disney Side, with a Fourth of July focus, by enjoying several Disneyland Park staples. In addition to the flag retreat ceremony, guests may choose to visit Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln attraction on Main Street, U.S.A. Those who enjoy the Marvel universe can visit Captain American, who greets guests from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Innoventions in Tomorrowland.
