Last week, dive professionals from all across the dive industry, started planning for the annual DEMA Show. It only happens once a year, but when it does, this is the world’s only international trade-only event for dive, action watersports and travel professionals. Trade Show News Network (TSNN) announced its list of the top 250 trade shows of 2013 and DEMA Show was recognized with the prestigious rank for the sixth time in recent years. DEMA stands for Diving Equipment & Marketing Association.
This year DEMA is taking place at the Las Vegas Convention Center located in Las Vegas, Nevada, from November 19-22, 2014. The event rotates between Orlando, Florida and Las Vegas, Nevada each year. They are two of the only cities that have a convention center large enough to hold the record amount of attendees, speakers and exhibitors.
For those that are unfamiliar with this organization and this trade show, the benefits and the advantages of attending annually are absolutely amazing. Seminars take place to assist dive operators and dive store owners make the most of their business in the most cost-effective manner. Over 250 professional development sessions take place in just a matter of days. New products not yet released to the public are unveiled as a means of informing those that will be closest to both the product and the customer. Having so many dive professionals under one roof, this is obviously a perfect opportunity to network and make important connections to continue to exchange ideas with. In past years, attendance has climbed over 9,000 over the course of the event.
DEMA dives into action with over 600 leading manufacturers, training agencies, destination and service providers and even a scuba demonstration pool. This show encompasses not only the recreational diving industry but targets the technical dive industry as well, a rapidly growing sport that is attracting more and more divers each year.
The DEMA mission statement is to promote sustainable growth in safe recreational diving and snorkeling while protecting our underwater environment. The organization constantly works year round to make sure that they achieve their goals.
Although each day can be grueling with the amount of knowledge that is meant to be soaked up in only a matter of hours, there is some fun and enjoyment that also come into play. Socialize with those that you share a common bond with in the DEMA Member Lounge, buy souvenirs and books written by some of the creative speakers all at the DEMA Store. A silent auction, theme dinners each evening and the culmination of the event, the DEMA Awards Party, make it a most memorable experience year after year.
Since professionals, media outlets and exhibitors travel long distances just to attend this show, DEMA officials make it very convenient to make reservations by blocking off a set of rooms at an Official Hotel with plenty of great rates and savings. There is even a daily shuttle to take you to and from the Convention Center.
Registration for the DEMA Show is now open so if you are in the dive and/or water sports industry, this is the trade show that you will simply not want to miss. It all takes place in Las Vegas, Nevada from November 19-22, 2014.
