Are you a fan of eggnog? This is a classic holiday beverage that’s been a part of Christmas for more years than anyone can count! Now that the Christmas season is officially off and running, you may already be thinking about the Christmas parties that you’ll be a part of. It could be that you’re looking for new and different things to have at these parties and if you serve eggnog, then I have some suggestions for alternate ways to serve this classic holiday beverage!
Commercially-sold eggnog is typically available only during the Christmas season, though some stores sell it throughout the year. Some stores also stock it at Easter, in addition to Christmas. I’m sharing two recipes for eggnog that begin with the store-bought version and you’ll be able to dress it up into some new flavors for your holiday entertaining. The first recipe is for “Coffee Royale Eggnog”, and this eggnog has some instant coffee added to it, along with rum flavoring. Vanilla ice cream is added to give it some extra flavor and it goes well with the other ingredients. You can top it with sweetened whipped cream and dashes of nutmeg. It makes a creamy, flavorful holiday drink!
The second recipe is for “Chocolate Eggnog” and this one is flavored with chocolate syrup and real whipped cream flavored with chocolate to go over the top. If you like brandy, you can add some to it, though I usually leave it out. It makes a nice beverage that anyone who loves chocolate would enjoy.
Last year, I shared a recipe for “Eggnog Cake”, which uses the prepared eggnog in it and in the icing. It’s a very good cake, which is easily made since it starts with a cake mix. To get this recipe, follow this link:
