If you are someone who loves a great proposal story, (and be honest, you know you do) I found a website for you to lose yourself for an afternoon (and maybe night and the next morning too). The site is “How He Asked” and it is full of proposal stories, photos, and videos. With a little background on how the couple met and the story behind the proposal plan, you are sucked into the relationship and eager to see the happy tears flowing down as her boyfriend hits his knee.
“How He Asked” also has information about finding photographers, videographers, and other vendors to help pull off the perfect proposal. Looking to book a flash mob? You can do that too.
You can also pick out your dream ring or actually shop to purchase one from a linked site. There is even a blog just for men, with advice and stories for their side of popping the question.
The biggest part of the site though, and where you are most likely to lose track of time, is reading and watching the proposal stories. It’s kind of like YouTube for wedding fanatics.
Here’s a taste of the gasps, rings, and hugs that are in store for you.
Sporty with a Dash of Family
This is the story of Jamie, and the guy who loves her. Because soccer to Jamie, was second only to her family and friends, her boyfriend wanted to create a proposal involving all three. With her family out of state, he realized the only way to pull this off was to propose after a big game back in her home state of California. He enlisted the help of her mom and assistant coach to gather the team in the right spot after the game and play their song over the PA, leaving him the opportunity to walk in with a single rose. (The only hurdle he saw was if the team lost the high-stakes game.)
Sweet and Scenic
Erick and Erica’s story has a lot of great photos by Courtney Stockton for Flytographer which tell their proposal story without words. The words fill in the details about how they met though and what makes their story so special. Erick gave the photographer a cover story for why she wanted to take their photos, but even the cover story had a special significance to the couple that related back to their first date.
A Scavenger Hunt Proposal of Epic Proportions
John knew that Megan was on to his proposal, or at least suspicious it was coming up, so he didn’t focus on the surprise element as much as making it a memorable day. He created a scavenger hunt complete with a limo, mimosas, and her two best friends to share the day with her. The clues took her on a tearfully happy adventure of pampering, revisiting memories of their relationship, and picking up the people closest in her life along the way. Susan Lines Photography captured every step of the day.
