It was a calm and quiet Sunday night at the Los Angeles International Airport as people were surprised to see Philippine A-List celebrity Anne Curtis arrive in Los Angeles for various press events of her Hollywood film role debut in Francis dela Torre’s “Blood Ransom.” Individuals that knew her, clamored to take photos with the actress/music artist/entertainer. Curtis was accompanied by her co-star Alexander Dreymon and the film’s director/writer Francis dela Torre.
Curtis is considered the Philippines’ version of Britney Spears during Spears’ heyday, but without the craziness. She has been featured in movie box office hits along with co-hosting on popular television show “It’s Showtime!” The beautiful Filipino-Aussie is also known as a music artist and VJ.
After obliging fans for photos, in an exclusive interview with this writer’s affiliate, Chris Trondsen of Pacific Rim Video, Anne mentioned that she is a bit nervous and excited on the debut of the film especially her first American movie role along with playing a vampire.
In the movie, Anne plays Crystal, a vampire who must fight the leviathan yearning building up inside her to help save the life of the man (Alexander Dreymon) she loves.
Curtis hopes that if this film succeeds at the box office, she might sink her teeth into more roles from Hollywood if any are offered to her.
Asked how she felt knowing this is her first film role in a Hollywood film, “I’m excited and it’s different from what I’ve done in the Philippines. This is something my fans haven’t seen me in before.”
She encourages her fans and hopefully new fans to watch the film because this is the first time she plays a vampire. She would love to see her followers come out to see this. “This film also opens up on Halloween, so it’s appropriate to watch. I hope you all come out to support the film,” says Anne.
During her downtime, she hopes to go shopping for anything and everything a girl loves shopping for. She’s also excited to keep fit by taking a quick run up to Runyon Canyon in the Hollywood Hills.
Anne hasn’t wasted any down time after her arrival in Los Angeles, as she posted an Instagram photo of her standing next to her icon, Audrey Hepburn’s Hollywood Walk of Frame star along with her quote, “Paid my respects. My forever love and icon..”
Along with seeing the star of Audrey Hepburn, Anne was also starstruck as she caught a glimpse of Nicole Kidman in the Tom Bradley Terminal of LAX at the same time she arrived from the Philippines. She excitedly posted on her Twitter, “I just saw NICOLE KIDMAN at the airport ! I can die right know!!!!! Hello L.A!!! #superfangirl.”
Asked about a recent quick kiss on her show “It’s Showtime!” with co-host Vhong Navarro, she immediately dispelled the incident as a friendly farewell kiss for her trip to the United States.
Anne Curtis will also fly to New York for more press events after the celebrity red carpet premiere of “Blood Ransom” at the famous Arclight Theatres this coming Tuesday.
The film debuts in select theaters in the United States on October 31, 2014.
