The eclipses begin on October 8, 2014; but, we are going to start to feel the impact this month. I thought I would post a preview of what to expect this fall because the eclipse period will be extremely important and significant, and it is helpful to be prepared.
This fall has another set of eclipses, which will prove to be extremely illuminating, insightful, and provocative, as is the tone of 2014. To begin with, we are still in the pair of Eclipses comprising the Total Lunar eclipse series in the Aries/Libra axis; as well as the Solar eclipse series in the Taurus/Scorpio axis. The eclipses underline the polarity between the zodiac signs in both series. The emphasis with the eclipses in Aries/Libra is related to individuality versus partnering. The emphasis in the Taurus/Scorpio axis is related to issues of ownership, possessions, possessiveness, collective partnerships, and letting go of earthly possessions in order to transcend.
This Fall series of eclipses will induce many breakthroughs and endings in our own lives and in our relationships. Since the Eclipses of April of 2014, which also happened to coincide with the Grand Cross on April 23, 2014, many of us have been immersed in this process of enlightenment, change, and struggle.
The Grand Cross had many of us pulled in four directions, as there were four planets in combat at 13 degrees of the Cardinal signs. Pluto, the planet of death and transformation, at 13 degrees of Capricorn; Uranus, the planet of chaos and enlightenment, at 13 degrees of Aries;Jupiter, the planet of expansion, at 13 degrees of Cancer; and Mars, the planet of war, at 13 degrees of Libra. This maelstrom of planets urged us with an aggressive tone to break free from daily life, and it was extremely uprooting for many. Those with planets and angles at 11 to 15 degrees of the aforementioned signs felt it the the most.
The upcoming Total Lunar Eclipse on October 8, 2014 will pick up where we left off in April. There will be a continuing need to break through and let go of things hindering our own self exploration and awareness. The Total Lunar Eclipse at 15 degrees of Aries is significant for several reasons. It is the second Total Lunar Eclipse of the Tetrad, which is a chain of four sequential Total Lunar Eclipses occurring approximately every six months. The first Total Eclipse of the Tetrad began on April 15, 2014.
A Total Lunar Eclipse occurs when the Moon completely covers the Sun, as seen from the earth. This Lunar Eclipse on October 8, 2014 is even more special because it is a Blood Moon Eclipse. A Blood Moon eclipse is a rare celestial event when the Earth’s shadow falls across the moon — turning it orange. A blood red moon means the moon is in its total shadow. Many have speculated over the years as to the meaning of a Blood moon. At one time, it was viewed as ominous and foreboding. The rare Red Moon infused with an orange flow is also seen as a time to celebrate and honor the flow of life.
This Total Lunar Eclipse is going to be rocking and rolling. To begin with, it occurs at 15 degrees of Aries, which sets off the Grand Cross from last April. Herein lies the issue of breaking from the old and finding courage to transcend and embrace the new. Issues that surfaced in April might resurface in some manner, and there should be some completion and resolution with this full moon eclipse. There will be a lot of stress, change, and endings with this particular eclipse.
This Lunar Eclipse in Aries conjoins Uranus, the maverick planet. It urges all of us to embrace individuality, take a stand for what we believe, and break free from unhealthy emotional patterns. Because the eclipse is in the Aries/Libra axis, the focus is on relationships. Lunar Eclipses already tend to focus more on partnerships than Solar eclipses, therefore the Libran relationship theme sets the tone further to this Lunar Eclipse. Uranus is very impulsive and courageous, so use the courage to transform and take a stand for healthier patterns in relationships. However, be wary of being impulsive, as Uranus can trigger you in a second.
Keep in mind that people and things can be eclipsed from our lives completely during eclipse periods. Therefore, wait a few weeks before committing to an important project or decision concerning a relationship. In the interim, tap into all of the Uranian flashes of insight that this eclipse provides. The Total Full moon eclipse will inevitably induce major endings and breakups. The fact that this eclipse is conjunct the south node means we are meant to let go. If there are unhealthy issues, patterns, or people that we are trying to cling to, this eclipse will induce the surrender.
Forming a background to this Lunar Eclipse is a Grand Trine in Fire, which is a very lucky configuration. This Grand trine perfects two days before the Lunar Eclipse and involves Uranus in Aries, Jupiter in Leo, and Mars in Sagittarius. This optimistic and courageous Grand trine energy makes the letting go process easier. It is encouraging and optimistic energy, which facilitates taking action for what you love and enjoy.
The Solar Eclipse falls on October 23, 2014 and is at 0 degrees of Scorpio. This New Moon Eclipse is also very relationship oriented, as it is exactly conjunct Venus, which is at 0 degrees of Scorpio. Venus is the planet of love and what we value. The Solar eclipse chart for October 23, 2014 also happens to have all of the planets in Scorpio aligned together in the house of partnerships. This highlights relationships of all kinds.
This eclipse speaks to Saturn, which has been traveling in the sign of Scorpio since October 6, 2012. Saturn leaves the sign of Scorpio on December 23, 2014, so we are almost complete with the Scorpio lessons regarding other people’s money, loans, taxes, insurance, investments, sex, and intimacy.
Saturn will return briefly at a late degree of Scorpio from June until September of 2015, but most of the lesson is complete this year. Get your affairs in order in whatever way the Saturn lessons have spoken to you specifically. You want to start to address this area of your life and work on it before Saturn enters the sign of Sagittarius on December 23, 2014.
This Solar eclipse is a time of new beginnings. This Solar Eclipse in Scorpio involves Venus in Scorpio, which is wounded in the placement of Scorpio. However, the Solar eclipse helps to bring healing and renewal by facing wounds and opening the heart to relationships. This eclipse involves the Sun, the Moon, and Venus all together at 0 degree of Scorpio. This helps to shed healing light on wounds around love.
This new moon eclipse also makes a beautiful healing trine to Neptune. Neptune is the planet of ascetic love, dreams, and compassion. This brings a romantic and dreamy tone to the Solar Eclipse at the first degree of Scorpio. This eclipse introduces new beginnings and lessons with relationships. The mantra is letting go in order to begin. And so it shall be!
