Fall is here! Now that the season has officially changed, New Yorkers can look forward to bars experimenting with flavors like apple, cinnamon, cloves and other seasonal goodies. Check out the below recipes from local New York bars featuring apple as an ingredient in cocktails for fall. Cheers!
Spice Hot Toddy available at Bar & Books for $16, created by Eladio Huitzil
2 oz Caliche Rum
3/4 oz lemon juice
3/4 oz apple juice
1/2 oz honey syrup
1/2 oz Cointreau
1/4 oz orange juice
Shake all the ingredients and strain into a toddy glass and add hot water garnished with a cinnamon stick and a slice of orange with 3 cloves.

4-5 muddled mint leaves
1 dash Angostura bitters
.5 oz simple syrup
.5 oz lemon
1.5 oz Tullamore D.E.W. Irish Whiskey
1.5 oz Magner’s Cider
Shake with ice. Double strain and serve onto ice. Garnish with mint sprig.
Red Apple Bourbon Fizz, available at BLT Steak New York for $16, created by Alex Berlingeri, Sommelier
2 oz Gentleman Jack
1 oz apple juice
1 oz Honey Ginger Syrup
Build cocktails in shaker glass. Shake over ice, then pour into highball glass. Add a splash of ginger ale. Garnish with an apple slice.
Green Destiny, available at Hakkasan for $15
3 barspoons of chopped cucumber
½ peeled kiwi fruit
2 oz Zubrowka Bison Grass Vodka
2 barspoons white sugar syrup
In a Boston glass, muddle all ingredients. Add ice cubes, top with 2 oz fresh apple juice. Shake and pour into a fresh Bespoke Collins glass. Garnish with 3 tin round slices of cucumber.
German Applesauce, available at Reichenbach Hall for $12, created by Adam Hardman
1.5 oz Barenjäger Honey & Bourbon
1 oz Schonauer Apfel
1 oz pineapple juice
Shake and strain over ice.
Pom Lavand available at Analogue for $15, by the bar team
2 oz apple puree
2 oz Añejo rum
1 oz lime juice
¾ oz apple liqueur
¾ oz lavender syrup
Fresh cinnamon stick
Place all ingredients in a cocktail shaker. Add ice and shake vigorously for 8 to 10 seconds. Strain into a coupe cocktail glass and garnish with grated cinnamon.

2.25 ounces Milagro Reposado
1 ounce fresh squeezed green apple juice
.5 ounces fresh squeezed Washington Red apple juice
.25 ounces grenadine
.5 ounces cinnamon simple syrup
Shake all ingredients with ice and pour over ice. Garnish with an apple slice.
