Jet-setting from coast to coast creating stunning visual images on entertainers and actors who have graced major platforms, J. Bolin is the go-to man to create the “Wow!” factor. During Chicago Fashion Week, J. Bolin sets up shop at the Crown Plaza Chicago Metro to share his expansive knowledge on the art of fashion. In an interview Wednesday, Oct. 15, J. Bolin talks about his passion for fashion.
From a Mississippi country boy to Image Consultant to the Stars, J. Bolin is comfortable in his own skin and in the profession he chose. Far from his two month stint in a Nissan plant, J. Bolin’s name has become synonymous with sophistication on another type of runway. His humble beginnings of spending days in Barnes & Nobles to read everything on fashion because he did not have the money to purchase the periodicals or books and taking on a position at a local college to create a curriculum based upon fashion and bring it to fruition, J. Bolin’s passion has driven him to be the success he is today.
J. Bolin believes that it was God who blessed him with the passion, patience and gift to work with a wide variety of personalities. His work has been seen on the likes of Ne Ne Leakes of the Real Housewives of Atlanta, Erica Campbell of the famed Gospel dynamic duo Mary Mary, Gospel music vocal powerhouse Le’Andria Johnson and Sarah Jakes author and daughter of mega-church leader Bishop T.D. Jakes. J. Bolin enjoys pulling together looks that compliment his client’s figure and character.
The philosophy behind J. Bolin’s approach is simple, classy and timeless. In a sense, J. Bolin has embarked upon a ministry with fashion. “I feel like women respect and they listen to what I have to say as a man [because] I know what a woman should look like. I’m here to refresh homes. I’m here to rejuvenate people’s marriages. Make the man look at the woman again and the woman to look at the man again. I’m saving marriages around here. This is more than just about clothes and having fun.”
Well, J. Bolin will be saving a lot of homes and marriages this weekend at the fashion boot camp revival held at the Crown Plaza Chicago Metro hosted by Kiwi Boutique, which is located in the UIC District of Chicago.
