Little Rock fashion designer, Sheila Scott, is the chief designer for fashion label N’cholé Féroce. Scott will be debuting her Fall/Winter 2014 collection on Saturday, July 19th at Little Rock Fashion Week. This year, the show will be held at the Statehouse Convention Center and doors will open at 6:00 P.M.
Scott has been toiling away in her studio for the past several months and has not revealed any new pieces to her fans. Her following is anxiously awaiting the new Fall/Winter collection and Scott ensures there will be some suprises in store.
“This collection is a menagerie of dualities. I call it daring elegance, very glamorous ‘here I am’ looks. You will see sweet and sexy in every piece. No matter what your tastes, there is a little something for everyone,” says Scott.
Scott urges consumers to support independent, local designers and has been an advocate of creating custom wears that are both well-made and affordable. Not only can one purchase Scott’s original designs directly from her website, but she can custome make anything a client dreams up at the fraction of the price you would pay at big retailers.
In addition to Scott’s ready-to-wear label, she has cleverly added original fashion illustrations to her line of t-shirts, tote bags, designer throw pillows, mugs and more. This serves as additional marketing for her brand, but also gives consumers an option to purchase and official N’cholé Féroce item for only about $20.00 – $30.00.
“The movement to ‘buy local’ has made a big splash in the food industry as you see the rising popularity of local farmer’s markets and independent health food stores. We need to think the same way about the clothes we wear. Not only is it more ecological to buy from independent designers, but you are also helping a small business owner instead of large corporate entities,” Scott explains.
As Scott contributes to the change in atmosphere of how consumers buy clothing, she utilizes platforms such as Little Rock Fashion Week to help spread her message. You can view and shop fashion label, N’cholé Féroce, on her website at www.ncholeferoce.com/.
