It would seem that there are people in Alaska who don’t seem overly impressed with former governor Sarah Palin and her family, or so a story being circulated by bloggers would have us believe. The Daily Caller reported (via Yahoo News) Sept. 11 that four of the Palin clan — Sarah, Todd, Bristol, and Track — were reportedly involved in a drunken brawl at a party this weekend. Not only did the Palins allegedly get a bit banged up but one of their number apparently started the melee, the group was asked to leave, and “Mama Grizzly” let her insecurity show. Raw Story reported that Anchorage Police confirmed the Palins as participants in a drunken brawl on Saturday night that involved at least 20 people.
According to the Daily Caller, local bloggers reported that the Palins showed up at a party in their hometown of Wasilla, Alaska, after leaving the Iron Dog snowmobile race. The blog “Immoral Minority” wrote that Track allegedly got into a shoving match with one of his sister Willow’s former boyfriends and the altercation escalated to the point of the Palins being asked to leave.
Amanda Coyne, an Alaska political blogger, consolidated a bunch of witness reports and noted that things started going downhill when oldest son, Track, arrived at the party in a stretch Hummer. She said the confrontation between Track and a party-goer got so intense, the owner of the residence came out. More words were exchanged and Bristol Palin apparently started throwing punches. The Palins were asked to leave, which led to one-time half governor Sarah Palin allegedly yelling, “Don’t you know who I am?”
One of the better quotes from the brawl came about this time, according to witnesses. After Sarah roared with insecurity, someone in the crowd yelled back, “This isn’t some damned Hillbilly reality show!” This was most likely a reference to the failed Sarah Palin reality series “Sarah Palin’s Alaska,” which only ran for nine episodes a few years ago.
Still, even with police confirmation, the brawl’s actual details remain in dispute. Police admit that the incident is under investigation, but no charges were filed by anyone in attendance, even though at least 20 people were reportedly involved.
Shortly afterward, Track was reportedly in the street, shirtless, flipping people off. Sarah Palin was reportedly right behind him. Husband Todd was elsewhere, apparently the recipient of a bloodied nose.
The owner of the residence where the party took place, Chris Olds, told Immoral Minority that the fight did take place at his home. He also admitted he was struck several times by Bristol Palin.
At the end of it all, conflicting reports indicate that the story of what truly happened at the Saturday night brawl is unclear. Anchorage Police only acknowledge that a large altercation took place and the Palins were there.
But there’s something for Sarah Palin, who launched her own television internet network in July, to take away from all of this. If you want interesting television material for your reality series or — as they case may be at present — your internet channel, try using this stuff in your programming. It worked for “Jersey Shore” and the “Real Housewives” franchise.
