France has a surge of evil clowns that are terrorizing citizens throughout the country. This creepy rise of disturbing individuals are said to be committing crimes, with one 14-year-old recently being arrested after attacking a woman. News Max reveals this Tuesday, October 28, 2014, that another unidentified teen was sentenced to several months in jail after beating a woman with an iron bar as a weapon.
There is no clear explanation for it, but a France “evil clowns” invasion has occurred this Halloween month. From Paris to Montpellier, police have received reports of people young and old dressing up as creepy clowns and terrorizing passerby. Some of these scare “pranks” have turned violent. One 14-year-old wearing a frightening clown outfit was placed under arrest after attacking a defenseless woman, while another young teen is going to prison for a short time after using a metal bar to beat a victim no less than 30 times.
According to the press release, dozens of emergency calls and complaint reports have been filed throughout France in recent weeks. A number of these clowns are said to not only look disturbing, but add serious danger to the creepy factor by carrying dangerous weapons around with them. Knives, guns, crowbars, and baseball bats are just some of the items said to be on hand, while at least several are confirmed to be in police custody over this shocking trend.
It seems the fear of these evil clowns has resulted in an anti-clown movement and almost hysteric worry. Law enforcement officials in France are taking great care to let the public know that even though there has been a sudden rise in appearances and even attacks from these terrorizing individuals, there is no serious threat. Only a “small number” of overall sightings have been verified, while most pranksters seem content at just frightening people, not actually hurting them.
MSN News reveals this week that a major part of the problem lies with a sheer intimidation factor. Just yesterday, a woman from Chelles, Paris, phoned in an emergency call to local police saying that she had been approached by these France evil clowns. She said that a pair of what looked to be young adults cornered her and one was wielding a fake hatchet, or small axe. Had she not run, she said she feared they would have actually struck her.
Fortunately in this case, a witness saw the harrowing sight and grabbed a baseball bat from his car. He managed to stop one of the assailants wielding the weapon, and police soon arrived to question and detain him. At the time of his capture, officers said that his face was still smeared with red and white makeup.
Other frightening incidents of this rise have also been reported, including cases of youths in Paris suburbs wearing clown masks and stealing cell phones from passerby. A total of 14 teens were arrested in Agde on Saturday night alone, for example; one was armed with an iron bar and all of them were dressed as clowns. France is apparently not the only country experiencing these grotesque, terrorizing pranksters this October — the United States and certain areas of the UK have also suffered this unwanted trend.
Although a majority of these “evil” clowns are thought to be young adults being swept up in the creepy craze, some adults have also been cited committing fearful crimes. Potential attackers wielding weapons and wearing masks have been reported to most commonly be seen in regular areas.
“[They are commonly] spotted outside schools, but also on public roads, in bushes, in a square. Their targets are often young children or teenagers, but also adults,” said one law official spokesperson from France this week.
What do you think of this France evil clowns headline? Is it just a passing phase, or does this creepy rise of terrorizing offenders suggest the start of serious trouble? Some observers have speculated that these attacks may be the result of overexposure to disturbing incident seen on television and movies. One source drew comparisons to the movie “The Purge.” Killer clowns have also been sensationalized in the media, with Twisty the Clown from “American Horror Story” being called by a few viewers as the scariest clown of all time.
