Stay healthy with a dose of negative ions, a run and yoga. Roga – running and yoga – returns to the Santa Monica Pier every Saturday morning, from September 6, 2014 through October 11, 2014, starting at 8 a.m. Thanks to Honest Tea and Clif Bar, these workouts are free!
Get a running jump on Saturday morning at 8 a.m. with a jog or walk. Rendezvous under the iconic, blue Santa Monica Pier sign at the top of the ramp at Colorado and Ocean for a stretch. Choose a 2 or 5 mile course for a brisk run or walk around the beach and pier areas. A secure yoga mat drop off is available here.
Refresh body, mind and soul with a free yoga class starting at 9 a.m. led by some of the top teachers in town. Bring your own yoga mat, and meet at the far west end of the pier up the stairs to the gallery by Mariasol’s. Strike a pose while you gaze at the Pacific and inhale healthy negative ions generated by the sea. All levels are welcome. Cory Martin from Hustle & Flow Fitness kicks off the first session of yoga on September 6. Another Hustle & Flow Fitness instructor, Jennifer Dapper, leads the class on September 13. A mysterious “special guest” is slated for September 20. Sara Falugo, from Yoga Nest, leads a gentle, meditative class on September 27. Cristi Christensen from Exhale Center takes over on October 4. Celebrity trainer, Juliet Kaska, closes out the series on October 11.
