Due to the fact that Randy Pitchford was busy attending PAX Australia this past week, fans may have noticed that they received fewer SHiFT codes for Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel from the Gearbox box over the last few days. Getting back to giving players their regular allotment of free in-game loot within the co-op shooter, Pitchford returned to Twitter on Oct. 31 to hand out a new SHiFT giveaway just in time for the weekend.
Prior to this week, Pitchford had rewarded fans of Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel with a new set of SHiFT codes on nearly every day since the latest installment of the loot-based title launched in October. After not receiving any new codes in a few days, fans can now begin collecting golden keys once more.
Players can redeem the new codes from inside the game by accessing the SHiFT vendor located within the central city of Concordia. Each SHiFT code can only be redeemed a single time per account and will grant gamers one golden key. Fans can use the key to open the special loot chest found in the same city that will have a selection of random rare items for the vault hunter who opened it.
Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel is available now on Xbox One, PS3, and PC. The game takes place between the events of the first two Borderlands titles and is set on the moon of Pandora. Gamers are given access to four new playable characters inside the new release, each with their own unique playstyle and action skill.
