Gulf Coast USBC and Bowling centers

Fall season has started. Everyone is in their third or fourth week of their leagues. Meeting new friends, and seeing old friends.

Now the centers and you’re bowling association is offering tournaments and fun events in each center.

Happening at Ten Pins, which is located at 1453 Pasadena Ave. Their website address is www.littlecenters.com on October 4 & 5th open to Gulf Coast members only, Youth/Adult Tournament. Entries can be found on Gulf Coast website – www.gcusbc.org On Saturday nights from 7 pm to 11 pm they have their Strike It Rich, win money bowling, a lot of fun!!

Happening at Sunrise Lanes, which is located at 6393 9th Street North. Their website is www.sunriselanes.com on September 30th, Guys night out, 6 pm to close buy 1 game get 1 free. October 19th – Youth Bowlers – Burkins Bowling Eliminator Junior Gold Qualifier – 10:30 am check in, 11 am start $45 cost. More details at www.burkinsbowling.com Also the next weekend is their 100 + tournament, this is a sanctioned tournament and is doubles, and your ages must equal 100 +. The tournament is October 26th at 1 pm. Then the following Friday night, Halloween night!!! They are having a Halloween Party…. $15 all you can bowl with reservation by 10/30, $18 after. Eat, bowl and have fun, galactic bowling, costume contests, thriller dance, drink specials from 9:30 to 2 am. And be sure to visit Bev’s Pro Shop while at Sunrise Lanes. Happening at Liberty Lanes, which is located at 11401 Starkey Road. Their website is www.libertylanesbowling.com as soon as you walk in the front door; you are greeted by a 2015 Nissan Altima. You are able to win this car, be sure to sign up. During the month Liberty has tournaments throughout. This coming weekend, September 26 is the Team Challenge Tournament it starts at 6:30 pm, October 11 Trio Tournament starts at 6:30 pm, and the Weekly Scratch Friday night PBA Tournament. Happening at Seminole Lanes – which is located at 8668 Park Blvd. Their website is www.seminolelanes.com on September 28 @ 1 pm is the 100 + doubles tournament, where your ages need to be combined 100+. October 11 @ 1 pm, Pro Line Bowling Supply Scratch Sweeper – Entry Fee is $50 also be sure to visit Mike Bongiorno’s pro shop http://seminolelanes.com/LEAGUES/PRO-SHOP

Seminole Lanes will be having a USBC Bronze Coaching Class soon. We are in the process of putting this together. If you are a Level One coach and are interested in becoming a bronze coach, this is the class for you. It costs $295, so be sure to check with your center and if you are interested, please email me at celeste@seminolelanes.com ASAP.

Gulf Coast USBC – Our next tournament is at Ten Pins, the youth/adult tournament on October 4 & 5th. On October 26 @ 2 pm, at Liberty Lanes we will be having our first Free Bowling Clinic – Need a little extra help? Fundamentals of Approach, Target, & Release. You need to be a certified bowler. To sign up call Gulf Coast at 727-399-2695 or email us at gcusbc@tampabay.rr.com There will be three more clinics at other centers as well, throughout the season. In November, the 61st Annual St. Petersburg Women’s Classic will be held at Liberty Lanes for the team event, and doubles/singles held at Sunrise Lanes. The tournament is 2 weekends, November 8 & 9 and November 15 & 16. This tournament is open to all USBC sanctioned women bowlers. Hope to see a lot of local bowlers, as well, as ladies from all over. Entry form is available at: http://gcusbc.org/Tournaments December 7 our first 500 club ladies fun tournament, be on the lookout for an entry form for this tournament.

Qualifying – 3 or 4 Games all 160 and above

Qualifying – 3 or 4 Games all 160 and above

Men’s Handicap

Qualifying – 3 or 4 Games all 210 and above

Men’s Sr Handicap

Qualifying – 3 or 4 Games all 210 and above

Youth Combined Scratch

Qualifying – 3 or 4 Games all 170 and above

Youth Boy’s Handicap

Qualifying – 3 or 4 Games all 170 and above

Youth Girl’s Handicap

Qualifying – 3 or 4 Games all 150 and above
