Plenty of activities are coming up in the mountain communities over the summer. Please attend the 2014 Crestline Mountain (Motorcycle) Run put on by Crestline Chamber member Soldiers for Jesus this Saturday July 26 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at starting at Crestline Chamber of Commerce Facility, 24385 Lake Drive, Crestline, CA 92325, by the north end of Lake Gregory.
Also check out Crestline Chamber of Commerce member, Rim of the World Recreation and Parks District at the 2014 Run Through the Pines event on August 9, 2014 at Lake Gregory. This event includes a 5K run/walk; race-walk; kids fun run; water stations; chip timing; and computerized race results. The course is patrolled by Emergency Communications. T-shirts will be available for purchase. Overall winners will receive custom trophies.
The first annual Run to the Lake Car & Boat Show comes to Lake Gregory on Saturday August 23, from 7 a.m.to 3 p.m., with a variety of classic cars and motorcycles, plus live music. Crestline Branch library offers free internet access, use of their computers and of course, books to check out and read. They also offer a number of activities for children, including a juggling show on August 7. The Independence Day parade in Crestline was a great success, with participation by local businesses, charitable organizations and individuals. Out of all the wonderful entries in the 2014 “Pride of the Pines” parade in Crestline, the six category entry winners are: The Bible Thumpers as the Best Motorcycle Entry; Rim Youth Cheer as the Novelty/Specialty Entry; The Mountain Fifes and Drums as the Fifes & Drums Entry; Rebuilding Together as the Best Non Profit Entry; Mountain Classic Cruisers as the Best Antique/Classic Car Entry; and Arrowhead Towing as the Best Commercial Entry.
The July 4 picnic at the grass field beside Lake Gregory provided fun, games and food for hundreds of residents and visitors, with dogs welcome on a leash, and children encouraged to participate and have fun.
