TLC has cancelled the popular reality TV show, “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” amidst rumors that Mama June is secretly dating Mark McDaniel, an ex from her past who was convicted of molesting an eight year girl who is June’s relative.
June denies that she is dating Mark and has said that she has not talked to him or seen him in years. Mark got out of jail in March and there is a picture circulating the internet of June and Mark in bed at a party.
June and the whole family deny it and 14 year old Lauryn told RadarOnline that it is a photoshopped picture and that her mama is not seeing him.
“My Mama is not seeing him and has not in ten years. She is all about the kids — she only needs us girls, no one else — we are all sticking together as one happy family with us four girls,”
Oldest daughter Anna who got married on the season finale of the show also spoke up in defense of her mama;
“I know for a fact it’s not true…the person behind this, all I got to say is he or she is trying to tear the family apart, which isn’t right one bit. They just want nothing but attention for themselves and money and for our show to stop,”
When asked if she thought is was Mike “Sugar Bear” Thompson who they look to as a father, Anna said no. Mike and June separated earlier this year due to the fact that June caught him searching for women online.
June posted on her Facebook page today, a video thanking the fans for their love and support through the years and during this trying time. She announced that TLC called her and cancelled the show because of the rumor and she denied the whole thing saying;
“I want to make a post trying to clear up the rumors remember you can’t believe everything you read! Ppl sell stories to the tabloid everyday that r false! It isnt true i promise my kids r #1 priority over anything else and I would never put them in danger period over this or anything else they r my life this is my past I left him 10 yrs ago for it and I wouldn’t go back.”
You can see that video here.
TLC said that can not support the show because of the association with a convicted sex offender and that regardless they will support the kids.
“Supporting the health and welfare of these remarkable children is our only priority. TLC is faithfully committed to the children’s ongoing comfort and well-being.”
They will help with counselors for the kids if needed.
TLC finished shooting the latest season of the show in August but will not air those shows as of now and do not have plans on airing the show or anything having to do with the family again, unless evidence that it is false is presented.
They feel that the children are being put at risk so they cancelled it.
Alana and her family became a part of the reality TV world thanks to the show, “Toddlers & Tiaras” when six year old Alana was given “Go Go” Juice which consisted of a mixture Red Bull, Pixie Sticks, and Mountain Dew to get her ready for the pageants by her mom.
TLC gave the family their own spin-off show. “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” in August of 2012 and the show took off and gave the television channel great ratings.
Fans of the show have shared thei sadness and frustation on the Facebook and Twitter pages of the show and are asking that the show be reconsidered.
It does not look like that will happen any time soon if at all.
Honey Boo Boo and family said they will continue to support their fans and their community with appearances and their family Christmas display in their hometown in Georgia.
