Jessa Duggar has shown that she is not afraid of speaking out on controversial issues. The whole Duggar clan are all pro-life advocates and quite outspoken about it and now, the “19 Kids and Counting” star is following in their footsteps. According to E! News on Tuesday, she has caused more controversy on her recent comments comparing abortion to the Holocaust.
This newly-engaged young lady just recently visited a Holocaust museum in Washington D.C. and it seems that it has affected her in a personal way. Unfortunately, her thoughts have raised some ruckus since she stated her opinions for all to see on her Twitter account. She started out by commenting on how sad it was to think of millions of innocent lives lost in the Holocaust. However, she continued on.
“One human destroying the life of another deemed ‘less than human.’ Racism, stemming from the evolutionary idea that man came from something less than human; that some people groups are ‘more evolved’ and others ‘less evolved,’” she wrote. “A denying that our Creator—GOD—made us human from the beginning, all of ONE BLOOD and ONE RACE, descendants of Adam. The belief that some human beings are ‘not fit to live.’ So they’re murdered. Slaughtered. Kids with Down syndrome or other disabilities. The sickly. The elderly.”
The 21-year-old then went on to talk about the sanctity of life and threw in a Bible verse found in Proverbs 24:10-12. Ms. Duggar has sure stirred up all of this controversy with stating her opinions on this emotional issue. Everyone knows how she feels about the topic of abortion as mirrored by her Christian-based family, but it is the thought that she was comparing it to the Holocaust that has some in an uproar. She also states in another comment that every life is precious and that everyone needs to speak up for those that cannot speak up for themselves.
Whether she really meant to compare abortion to the millions of lives lost in the Holocaust, the TLC star has certainly become an outspoken advocate for the unborn, just like her parents. In fact, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, along with the most of their family, were in Nashville on Monday to speak out in favor of a constitutional amendment on abortion regulations in Tennessee.
Jessa Duggar is now in the process of planning her wedding that is coming up in a few short weeks. She is marrying Ben Seewald, who is also not afraid to speak up on many hot topics. You can be sure that there will be lots more Duggar grandbabies on the way in the near future.
