Tampa Bay Songwriter Julie Black to perform at the 35th Annual Clearwater Jazz Holiday
Clearwater, FL – Critically acclaimed Blues/Soul/Jazz songwriter, vocalist and recording artist Julie Black is scheduled to appear at the 35th Annual Clearwater Jazz Holiday. Black will be performing music from her upcoming release Follow the Muse. The event takes place in Coachman Park, October 16-18, 2014, and is one of Florida’s most celebrated music festivals. Julie Black released her debut album, Call Me Angel For Blues, in 2007. Released on BOJO Records, Call Me Angel For Blues was named one of the Top 5 Contemporary Blues Albums of the Year by Blues Critic Radio.
Black released her 2nd album, You Just Might Win, in 2010. Also released on BOJA Records, You Just Might Win landed in the Top 10 at B.B. Kings’ Bluesville on SiriusXM.

Black was up for a Grammy nomination in 2013 for a song she co-wrote with legendary vocalist Shaun Murphy (Little Feat, Eric Clapton, Bob Seger, and The Shaun Murphy Band).
In the past, Black has headlined Safety Harbor’s Red White & Blues Festival, Dunedin’s Orange Festival, Zephyrhills’ Blues & BBQ Festival, Gainesville’s Downtown Plaza Concert Series, the Lowry Park Concert Series in Tampa, as well as many other music festivals.
Black has performed on CBS & NBC television, and at The Palladium Theater, Side Door Jazz, the Van Wezel Performing Arts Center, the House of Blues, Skipper’s Smokehouse, Richey Suncoast Theatre, WMNF’s Tropical Heatwave Concert Series, and the Clearwater Sea Blues Festival.

Black’s current band consists of Dave Eichenberger (guitar), Michael Johnn (keys), “Father” Bill Spicuglia (bass), and Frankie Timpanelli (drums).
