With Independence Day falling on a Friday in 2014 many people will take a three day weekend. Walt Disney World in Florida will be extremely busy. According to the Weather Channel, July 5 and 6 will both be hot and humid with a chance of thunderstorms.
On Saturday, July 5 the Magic Kingdom will be open 9:00am-1:00am. On Sunday the hours will be 9:00am-midnight, followed by two Extra Magic Hours for Disney resort guests. Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade will run at 3:00pm on both days. Main Street Electrical Parade will run twice on both days, at 9:00pm and again at 11:00pm. Celebrate The Magic will also have two showings both days, at 9:45pm and again at 10:35pm. Wishes Nighttime Spectacular will take place at 10:00pm on both July 5 and July 6.
After staying open an hour later on Independence Day, Epcot will return to its normal hours of 9:00am-9:00pm. World Showcase will open at 11:00pm. IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth will take place both evenings at 9:00pm.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios will hold an Extra Magic Hour on July 5 at 8:00am. The park will open to the general public at 9:00am, and will remain open until 10:00pm. It will be open 9:00am-10:00pm on July 6. There will be two showings of Fantasmic! both days, at 9:00pm and again at 10:30pm. July 5 is also the first day of Frozen Summer Fun at the park.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom will be open 9:00am-7:00pm on both July 5 and 6. On July 5 the park will host Harambe Nights, which is a separate ticketed event. Michael Beach will be the celebrity narrator that evening.
Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park and Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park will open at 9:00am on both July 5 and 6. They will remain open until 8:00pm both days.
