Kate Gosselin is having a garage sale, but the blonde celebrity’s motive for the clean-out is still decidedly questionable. While some see the sale as a sign the Gosselin family is in a frantic need for money, others view the event as Kate simply getting rid of unwanted goods that no longer have a place in her home. InTouch Weekly News shares this Tuesday, October 21, 2014, that the latter option is a definite possibility, especially since ex-husband Jon Gosselin was recently evicted from his residence.
Although Jon and Kate Gosselin — plus their eight children, of course — have not been all together for quite some time now, both celebrity parents appear to be dealing with some financial issues. Less than a week following confirmed reports of the father being evicted from his place in Pennsylvania, Kate says that a garage sale is in order for the upcoming weekend. The power mom is hoping that the yard sale will make the news — she has certainly succeeded on that front, at least — and prompt some big sales.
In an announcement made over the radio, Jackie and Scott from station Y102 publicly declared that Kate Gosselin and her family would be present this Saturday, October 25, to try and barter some old items away at St. John’s United Church of Christ. This yard sale will apparently have a variety of the celebrity family’s own items, including those of the newly evicted Jon.
According to her own statement, Kate has said the whole Gosselin clan will be in attendance, “selling their unwanted/no longer needed items clogging up their house.”
MCall News shares that the allegations that the family is in dire need of money or frantic about making some quick cash may not be altogether true. After all, the site’s official posting notes that some of the profits made from the garage auction will be made as a formal donation to a local Animal Rescue League. Considering about stopping by and wondering what you might find at this interesting event?
The Gosselins’ unwanted items are said to include quite a bit, offering “clothing, toys, books, appliances, car and booster seats, furniture and much more.”
This isn’t the first time that Kate Gosselin has tried making a pretty penny in a similar venue; she has been called out by quite a few “fans” in recent years after trying to sell expensive items that were initially given as gifts to both herself and her kids. Yet the blonde mom of eight is saying the ordeal has nothing to do with her ex-husband, Jon, or the fame — she just wants to be able to provide for her children and give them a proper meal.
“Hear me very clearly, if there was another way to singly support eight children, you would not know this name and I would be on an island, and so would they. You would never hear from us again,” the 39-year-old said in June … Having said that, [TV] is a pretty fantastic way to feed my children, keep them in an amazing house, at an amazing school and make memories together.”
What do you think of the Kate Gosselin garage sale? Is this just a case of the family trying to get rid of some old items and using their well-known celebrity status to gain some attention for the money-making event? Or do you believe the rumors that Kate is strapped for cash or really seeking to get rid of her ex husband’s unwanted goods now that he has been evicted from his home?
