Adam Kokesh announced Tuesday, September 30, “We have just been granted 501(c)3 status for The FREEDOM! Fund by the IRS and all contributions to American Campfire Freedom Tour will be tax-deductible.”
The American Campfire Freedom Tour is the next big thing from libertarian talk show host, activist, and author Adam Kokesh.
Kokesh is willing to spend 2015 living and traveling in an RV during a yearlong tour of America’s 150 biggest cities to promote the libertarian philosophy and he wants your help.
He needs to raise $30,000 for his American Campfire Freedom Tour during his Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign to make it happen.
The tour is his way of promoting his free book, FREEDOM!, which he describes as “the ultimate way to take people from ‘zero’ to ‘I get it’ as efficiently as possible” when it comes to introducing libertarianism to people unfamiliar with the message.
Kokesh began writing FREEDOM! while being held in solitary confinement last year after upsetting the establishment for exercising his Second Amendment right to openly carrying a firearm in America.
The book is a slim 100 pages that attempts to fundamentally change the way people think by planting the libertarian seed of freedom in young people’s minds. “There are no logical fallacies in here,” Kokesh promises in a promotional video, “no opinions, no exaggerations, no conjecture,” just “the warm, loving, liberating truth of freedom.”
The book has already been released for free in “every digital format possible,” plus audiobook and paperback. It’s available in Kindle edition on Amazon and individuals can purchase a “hundred pack” of FREEDOM! paperback books and begin distributing them on their own.
The primary push right now is to fund the American Campfire Freedom Tour, which includes “evening campfire events.”
But what exactly are “evening campfire events?” Libertarian News Examiner asked. “It sounds like people sitting around a campfire in the woods telling ghost stories.”
Kokesh responded to that question this way: “I’m not sure how many actual campfire events we’ll do, but I’ve been to successful ones before! Don’t think of six camping buddies, think of 20-50 people at a party around a campfire next to an RV full of FREEDOM! gear where a few people get up to speak briefly at some point. Make sense?”
Makes sense and sounds like fun.
“The more money we raise, the more books we can give out, the more evening campfire events we can host, and the more minds we can free” Kokesh further explains on his Indiegogo site.
The fundraiser began September 22 and runs through November 1, 2014.
