In last week’s episode, a celebrity basketball player is accused of rape and things get complicated as the owner tries to cover it up.
In this week’s show, titled “Producers Backend”, the police look into a celebrity train wreck wondering if something happened to her as a teenager that made her fall into a life of drugs. It looks like this show is based on so many celebrities that we have in the news today. Take your pick. Lindsey Lohan. Amanda Bynes. They all fit the bill.
Amaro and his partner break up a fight after an accident and it involves a celebrity, Tensley Evans (Stevie Lynn Jones), who is a hot mess. Things get worse for Amaro as Tensley says in open court that Amaro tried to have sex with her.
Tansley’s mother is making things worse for her as she likes to answer questions for her. After they are able to get the mother, Donna (Dana Wheeler-Nicholson, TV Friday Night Lights) to leave, Tensley tells Rollins and Carisi that she was raped in rehab by her psychiatrist, Jim Durant.
Rollins/Carisi talk with Jim and he tells them that Tensley flirted with him but he denied her. He tells him about another patient (Gregory) who Tensley had sex with in the ward.
So naturally lets go Gregory. Amaro/Carisi jump into this interview. He tells them what happened. That she gave him oral sex in exchange for pot. Of course Gregory doesn’t want to press charges because he doesn’t live an exciting life. But in the end, Rollins/Benson arrest Tensley.
Tensley has to talk to a psychiatrist to see if she can stand trial. The doctor talks to Benson and suggests that maybe there is more to Tensley then meets the eye.
Donna continues to try and control Tensley during the interview despite that everyone is trying to help her. She tells them about an A-list producer named Adam Brubeck and how he said that he would give her roles in movies if she slept with him and his friends. It turns out that she went down the rabbit hole because of what happened to her. And no surprise her mother knew about it and did nothing. Why? Because she didn’t want to stop the money from coming in.
SVU and Barba are torn at what to do. SVU wants to go after Adam but Barba wants to go after Tensley. So what do you do? Split the bill and just go after what they want.
Rollins/Amaro crash Adam’s party. Adam (Bryan D’Arcy James, TV’s Smash) and his mouthpiece tell them that Tensley got herself fired because she kept going to sets drunk. Rollins/Amaro push Adam. Of course he said that he did nothing. But the mother is looking more and more sleezy.
They have to go down a different path. They look at other possible victims and it’s a long road of broken celebrities and one death (an actress named Amber). They talk with Tensley about the parties and she lashes out and she ends up cutting her wrists.
After she gets sober, Tensley talks to Benson about what happened and how Adam killed Amber in the pool. Another actor knows what happened but was threatened not to say anything because he’s afraid of the world finding out he was gay.
They find a problem as they have no way of taking him down (which is the worst. Dealing with a smart criminal) but Barba finds a DVD that he might be able to take down Adam. Rollins/Amaro talk with the victim, Maude and find out that he slept with her in his hotel room because she thought she was working towards an acting role.
In other news, Rollins and Benson try and get Amaro to come back to SVU but Tucker keeps delaying it. In the end, Tucker lets Amaro go back to SVU. They find a loop hole in the law and arrest him for a crime that is not widely used but an effective one at the least.
As the show comes to an end, Benson gets some unsettling news as she learns that Noah’s in the ER.
In the next episode, SVU is looking for a man that is going after women who have victimized him in the past and Rollins finds herself in trouble as she tries to take him down.
