This mid-term election is critical, both in the natural realm (earth) and in the spiritual realm (the heavenlies). Who you vote for will determine how you position yourself before God in the coming years and beyond.
These critical issues of this day are not just political issues; but rather first and foremost, they are moral issues. I purposely capitalized the word “Righteousness” in my title, because I am referring to the proper noun of Jesus Christ, who is our Standard of Righteousness (1 Corinthians 1:30).
As a pastor, I am answerable to God and not people. I am accountable to God first and foremost, as I am held to a higher level of accountability in the area of sounding the alarm. I am a watchman who sits on the wall and watches (Isaiah 62:6); therefore much is required of me. “But if the watchman sees the enemy coming and does not blow the trumpet to warn the people and the sword comes and takes the life of one of them, that man will be taken away because of his sin, but I will hold the watchman accountable for his blood” (Ezekiel 33:6).
The enemy has come to the United States of America, as our leaders and citizens have opened the gate of hell. It is solely God’s most merciful hand that is keeping the devil and his demons at bay. But if we, the people, do not humble ourselves and pray and seek our Protector’s face and turn from our wicked ways, this country will experience such a shaking, such evil run amuck, and such unspeakable atrocities and utter devastation, that I tremble to even go there (2 Chronicles 7:14).
Apostle Ellis L. Smith of the Jubilee City Church in Michigan has stated that we are not to be the party of the elephant or the party of the donkey; rather, we are to be of the party of the Lion. Jesus Christ is the Lion of the Tribe of Judah. This is Whose Truths we are to follow, and by Whom to measure every other truth.
Abortion is not a left or right issue; but it is an issue of right and wrong, as is traditional marriage, and standing with Israel. God’s standard is there to make us free, for “who the Son sets free is free indeed” (John 8:36). The purpose of God’s Truth is to bring people out of captivity through conviction; and not to further oppress you with condemnation.
God’s Word frees us; but the devil’s lies deceive and condemn us. I always welcome correction from the Father, as God says in His Word “for the LORD corrects those He loves, just as a father corrects a child in whom he delights” (Proverbs 3:12). Let this message convict you and bring you out of bondage and into the wonderful freedom of God’s marvelous light.
One of the great abolitionists, Harriet Tubman, lamented “I freed thousands of slaves. I could have freed thousands more, if only they had known they were slaves.” How many of you reading this today are in bondage and do not even realize it? I pray that, if this is you, that God quickens your spirit, enlightens the eyes of your understanding so that you realize you are naked; thus ready to take the Great Deliverer’s hand and come out this day.
I am not using fear tactics, as fear tactics are of the devil. Fear is the faith of the devil, and is not of God. God does not honor fear in any way: fear-generated prayers, acts done out fear, motivations resulting from fear. God is a God of love; therefore, our prayers, actions, and motivations must come from a place of Godly love, otherwise they are in vain. Worshipping God out of fear, or acting out of fear is really worshipping the devil. When you give in to fear, you are glorifying the devil and not God. 1 John 4:18 testifies that “there is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear: because fear has to do with punishment. He that fears is not made perfect in love.”
God desires that everyone who reads these words position themselves to receive His best, come into the plan and purpose of the Father, and to walk in the overflow of God’s provisions. One can only do this by coming into agreement with God’s Word concerning all matters; thus positioning oneself to receive the Father’s blessings.
The world will have you vote for individuals who stand for abortion, gay marriage, and against Israel. This is completely contrary to what God has said concerning these matters. God is pro-life, pro-traditional marriage, and pro-Israel. God’s standard is the tried and true standard by which we should vote.
You cannot speak life when you vote for death. God formed the inward parts of every child. He knows every unborn baby before He knits them and places these precious seeds in the mother’s womb. And our loving Father covers every life in the womb. (Psalm 139:13-15, Jeremiah 1:4-5). God is for the unborn life with no exceptions.
You cannot expect your family to prosper if you vote for anything other than God’s definition of marriage (Genesis 2:24); and you cannot claim the blessings of Abraham for you and your family if you are voting for those who stand against Israel (Psalm 122:6, Jeremiah 17:13-14).
I realize that these are some hard words to take, my brothers and sisters; but they are words that I speak because God has put them in my spirit, because your loving Father does not want you to miss any of the wonderful plans or promises that He has prepared for you.
People of God, it does not matter what I believe, but it matters what God believes. I want what God wants for me and for my nation; and you should for you and your nation as well. I want what God wants, and not what I want. I am voting according to what God wants with respect to abortion, marriage, and Israel. I have had to forsake many things that I once believed, and lifestyles that I once engaged in, because they were not in agreement with what God said. What God wants for me is far more important than what I believe I want for myself. I have experienced that God’s ways for me are far better than what I could ask for or imagine (Ephesians 3:20). Living God’s way is freedom. Living my way is bondage. I will take God’s freedom any day of the week.
Do not allow the world to position you. The world will position you for lack, destruction, and death. Instead, allow God to position you. When you position yourself according to the Father, then you are positioned to receive His best, and He will cause the boundary lines to fall for you in pleasant places and make your lot secure (Psalm 16:6). I pray that you position yourself according to the Father, so that He can bless you immeasurably.
If you have never received Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior, I encourage you to do it today, right now, by saying this prayer out loud: “Jesus, forgive me for my sins. I am sorry. I truly desire to be saved and reconciled back to God, my Father, through You. I receive Your sinless Blood as payment in full for my sins—past, present, and future. I now call You my Lord and Savior, and invite You to live within my heart, and to permanently live within me. I make You Lord over me and over my life from this moment on. Amen.” Congratulations! You are now a child of God, made whole and made new, by the Blood of Jesus Christ!
