The emails keep pouring in from Napa Valley wineries thanking the public for their support in the aftermath of last Sunday morning’s 6.0 earthquake that shook, and devastated, a wide area of the wine region all the way to San Francisco. The latest entry is from Lightning Wines whose wrote today that they would like to take a moment and say thank you to all those who have reached out to us to inquire about the major earthquake that struck Napa Valley on Sunday, August 24th.
“We did experience damage to our equipment and partial loss of our Vintage 2013 wines (the accompanying photo shows the aftermath) and it will take time to dig everything out, but we are grateful that the quake hit at a time when no one was working in the winery.”
“We are honored and grateful that so many of you have reached out to us. We are very appreciative and truly thankful for your support, and for all the calls and emails offering your positive thoughts.” Lightning’s owner’s added, “Many of you have asked how you can help and we just encourage you to keep drinking Lightning Wines! Nothing will help us more than your support of our wines.”
They signed off with a “Thank you again for all of your calls, emails, thoughts and prayers’, all our best, Brooke & Randy Hester at www.lightningwines.com.
If you were planning a trip to Napa, don’t cancel it, many tasting rooms are open, hotels and restaurants are still operating and hopefully the worse is over, but with Mother Nature and California fault lines, one never knows for sure.
